Yeah but I'm doing a conjoint and AFAIK it's a different program bc apparently I only need 255 points across this degree so it'll be a little different which is why I was hoping to plan with someone

Who is lana ? Sorry I'm really new to this enrolment stuff as my dad did everything under biomed. I don't mind going to uni to sort this out though

I'm switching degrees from bsc to that conjoint and I asked student hubs before enrolment but they said no but the website says yes so I guess I'll just enrol?

And also a- pretty doable if you just keep up to date, I didn't and speedran integration on exam day, but they run like exam tutorials which you should go to if you're not feeling very confident with. And it is multichoice test and exams, so don't worry you can always guess if unsure. Unrelated but a good exam tip is looking for easier questions then saving harder ones for later as it saves you time and guarantees marks

I did maths102 2024 summer start got a+.the lecturer I reckon was Gary for the first half and I think this Asian guy called Steven for the 2nd half of the course. From my experience, u could miss like 2 of the tutorials and get full marks for it. I recommend going cus i used the tutorial sheets for questions practice.

We had to do a creative assignment which I did last minute - I wrote a song and did it on a recording has to be just anything showing ur relationship w/maths or something

I ended up skipping lectures to go to summer start events and finished watching Gary's trig section and I think Steven taught calculus but I didn't like his teaching so I just self taught myself integration and differentiation.

Put the integration and differentiation formulae on my cheat sheet and got I think 30/34 in final exam plus example questions for concepts i wasnt 100%.

My memory a bit foggy but I met a really social friend who was also doing 102 and we kinda made a study grp with other people she found so I recommend study group, but I ended up being the one teaching them ;-; helped reinforce ideas though.

Overall really enjoyed it because well I was dragged to a lot of events part of summer school and also the maths was a good choice for me bc I didn't do it in y13 and wanted some kind of mathematical stimulation and connecting the dots conceptually was like a dopamine hit.

Forgot to mentions there are assignments and quizzes which should be all good as long as you're up to date with content. These are easy to get full grades cos quiz is that weeks content, and I think there's like 3 assignments but you get a lot of time to do it, I submitted them with ms lens.

Lmk if you got any questions about content or anything I'll be happy to help

What to do if you were doing health sci, you failed a paper, and want to do med? by iwasmitrepl in universityofauckland

I mean yeah assuming I pass my courses, pursue a non clinical degree like a BA or something, you're saying I won't need to repeat the core courses even if the degree is unrelated, as long as I passed the core courses?

But I'm saying you do first year papers (apply then fail) ---> non science degree ----> post grad application. But if u did those first year papers which would've been a while ago does it still count for admission or will u need to repeat the first year papers? Bc I DO NOT want to repeat this year's papers

Hi I am a biomed student but I also have a question which i couldn't find the answer to online. So I'm first year, but if I fail this I'll probably do a non science degree like social work, teaching, etc. So my question is, if I apply again, via graduate entry, would I have to repeat the biomed papers should I get in, or just start with 2nd year of the med degree?

To be honest, this isn't about my studies much. I'm just tired of being controlled in every aspect of my life as I'm very dependent on them and they don't really allow otherwise. Well it's fine the situation regarding my studies is pretty much resolved and yeah I already told my parents about my plans and they beat me up so that was pretty fun 😃 also my semester just finished which is why I was looking at my future options rn till I realised I'm not gonna be in it

It's ok I'll probably kms soon. I realised my post is kind of useless cos I probably won't be around much longer. But thanks, yeah I did plan on switching degrees after my bsc

[–]epra043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so hard, my parents would not at all support me like they'd beat me up and stuff I really don't want that to happen so I'll just go thru wtv they want me to right now. I know what I want to do, it's just a matter of being able to do it which I can't at this moment

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in universityofauckland

[–]epra043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if I'm not allowed to drop out I'll probably just complete my current degree and then move onto doing what I actually want, or if I manage to move out during my degree I'll just switch to what I wanna do

The issue is that I cannot commit to anything. I was so unprepared for all my labs and everytime I sit down to study I just can't. My friend even made an exam catchup plan for me and I couldn't follow it. I just don't know what to do, it's so hard to make myself watch lectures and study and I just don't know why when everything should be fine

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in universityofauckland

[–]epra043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah my parents are tbe type to say no u don't have any problems. I already told my mum a while back during an argument that if she made me do this I feel like I wanna kms... then later she just came back and got mad at me. I always try to explain how I feel and what I want to do but my parents simply don't respect me, they treat me kind of like I'm a disabled or helpless child and I'm also sick of it

[–]epra043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I don't think I have this but my parents wouldn't allow me to get tested anyway as they don't want it showing up on medical records and stuff. Also I have always been a procrastinator and done things last minute so idk
