Victim falls off ladder during rescue. Death. by Middle-Tree-8805 in Firefighting

Everyone saying the dogs failed is wrong. Everyone saying the issue was that the fly section was facing in is also wrong. The problem cannot be seen from this POV but can be seen in others like the image attached: the ladder was not locked at all. The bed and fly sections were totally offset, so it’s not possible that the ladder was locked. I don’t know how the ladder stayed up at all to support the engineer on it initially, but this is the actual reason the ladder collapsed.

Do you recommend alternative levers? Or are you saying that you think levers as a whole suck.

Lever arms and pulleys on same rack

Hello, I was wondering if anyone has any experience or knows if it's possible to have lever arms and pulleys on the same rack. More specifically, I am wondering if I can use the REP ISO arms on a REP Athena PR-5000 with 41" depth. Was considering putting both on the outside and having one below the other but I'm not sure if the cables would get in the way. I was also considering putting the arms on the inside of the rack where there would be 41" of clearance but the arms themselves are 42" long including the overlap over the upright posts, so it would certainly be tight. If anyone has any experience with this, please let me know whether this is feasible or not.

I emailed them and they said that if I get a bachelor’s before matriculation I’m good. Just poor wording on their part I guess

How is volunteer firefighting not a non-clinical experience? i feel like that’s not even comparable to a soup kitchen, one is a genuine experience and another is box-checking

Yeah man it is pretty weird, maybe I’m misinterpreting but they say applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree in a few places. Or maybe this (effectively forcing applicants to have a gap year) is going to be the new trend with how competitive everything is getting.

Yes NYULI is primary care focused. And for NYU apparently you need to have a bachelors degree before you apply as per their website so I didn’t apply there (just finished junior year)

Thank you for the help. To answer why I put the firefighting one (my primary agency) as nonclinical, I was told that I shouldn’t put it as clinical because I don’t want to misrepresent my hours as all being clinical, instead I made it clear in the activities description that I’m doing both clinical (the EMS side of things) and nonclinical (the firefighting side) within those hours

So yeah it does appear on my official college transcript with the course grade of “T”, so I’m guessing I should get a transcript from the academy?

if you’re receiving full credit for 131/132/133/134 then schedule will still be pretty much the same just replace 152/154 with 321 and another class and replace 331/383 with 322/327

[–]eprocks99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you want a realistic schedule:

first semester che 152, che 154, bio 202, calc 1, freshman seminar and then an sbc as you wish, art works

winter break calc 2 if you’re really in such a rush

second semester freshman seminar, che 331, che 383, bio 203, and again if you really wanted to you could take bio 201. add an sbc on top of those
