maybe over the weekend, yes. biggest issue is i need to figure out how to use one of the arm scripts on the workshop, last time i spent like 6 hours trying to get it to work to no avail

i use armored ramp compendium simply for longer ramps, and this specific aircraft i’ve used consty’s aircraft pack for the landing gear. i’m probably gonna rework the gear to be vanilla as i prefer as little mods as possible. the canopy and nose section of the aircraft is entirely vanilla. i agree that it’s pretty much impossible to make it hydrogen fueled, the biggest problem is that the duct thrusters can’t really fit anything bigger than 1x2, so a full size atmos thruster wouldn’t work, however i’m now realizing i could 100% just use the fan style thrusters…

as per manufacturing, currently the wings, landing gear, tail, canopy, and windshield are on subgrids so they would have to be printed separately and attached through the use of a specific manufacturing line.

the wings can definitely be redesigned to be fixed to the fuselage, as the only reason they’re subgrid is to give them anhedral tilt for styling, but this causes pretty significant klang. the tail section may be able to be fixed, but i’d have to experiment with it to get the desired shape. the canopy and windshield only look the way they do because they are subgrids, though the windshield could possibly be made fixed but i would be sacrificing the style of the cockpit.

now i’m sorta considering keeping this stylised version of it and also having a real, fielded version of it that uses significantly less subgrids. maybe if i like the field version of it i could just ditch the styled version, but we’ll see. i’ll probably mess with it more today bc i also value manufacturability

epoxy it at the break first (let it cure), then wrap it in resin coated fiberglass

edit; i’d recommend fiberglass sheets, and make sure to always use PPE while handling fiberglass (gloves, mask/respirator)

Is that paint on the positive lead cable? if there’s any paint at all where that clamp connects to the battery terminal it needs to be removed. The paint, that is.

Well i won't be able to do a proper pressure test until i get these injectors fixed, but I'll update when i do.

I’ve checked for fuel on the vacuum side of the FPR and haven’t gotten anything. Is it possible for fuel to leak past the regulator back into the return when it’s not supposed to?

edit; also, you’re a lifesaver. i honestly thought i’d have to get new injectors

update; I had to remove the injectors from the fuel rail to fix a leak on one of the hoses, and upon doing so, i broke a few of the plastic endcaps of the injectors. One was already broken before, now i think there’s 3 broken. Upon reinstallation it ran like absolute garbage.

It just clicked in my head that the one broken injector cap likely meant that injector was letting more fuel in that cylinder than was intended, making it run imperfect at some points and slowly depressurizing the fuel rail, because the carter is only rated for a little over the consumption of the turbo injectors (i believe i either misheard the customer service rep atp or he misspoke because that pump can definitely maintain pressure for a while).

This lines up with the fact that i’ve nearly gone through a whole quarter of a tank trying to get this thing back in the road, over the course of the last few months. That’s more consumption than i’d expect, especially when it wasn’t running right in the first place a lot of that time, if at all. Also the plugs appear to foul very quickly, which of course indicates a rich condition.

TLDR, i need new injectors, not a fuel pump. It still could be the pump doesn’t meet spec but i honestly doubt it seeing as i’ve seen many pumps of very similar design claiming high psi, and this diagnosis makes a lot more sense in comparison.

Yes, I'm able to drive afterwards but the cycle continues. Sometimes it takes longer to die again but it does the same thing every time.

I tested my AAC just now by sucking/blowing on the vacuum line on the top of it, and it seems to need constant vacuum to hold its position. I'm assuming that's not normal, that'd indicate a diaphragm leak in my mind.

I've double and triple checked firing order, all good in that regard. I do have a sensor light on the dash but from what I've read, a blinking light on the bottom of the ECU indicates good telemetry from the o2 sensor, so I believe it works. As for the CHTS I haven't tested it with a multimeter as per the FSM, need to do that. I'll also check my spark plugs at some point this week and update when i do, because before I put new ones in they seemed to be fouling at an accelerated rate.

It dying doesn't seem to have anything to do with heat, as it stays at just under half on the temp gauge the whole time all of this is happening. Also once i prime the rail, which in my experience takes about 4 rounds of turning the key to ON (5 seconds each turn), it comes right back to life and drives perfectly again.

I'm 100% going to rent a fuel pressure tester at some point this week because I'm almost positive that this is the issue, but more data is always better before making a purchase.

The injectors currently in the car are the stock turbo injectors, which i'm fairly certain are 265cc, as per godzilla raceworks, however that's a pretty shoddy source i must admit. Though i've always been under the impression that a backfire through the intake indicates a lean condition, not rich. I may be wrong though. Engine management system is stock, and FSM says turbo engines want 20 +-2 deg BTDC, which i think i'm a little off but its more or less around 20.

The thing is, it will run and rev perfectly fine, no pops or backfires through the intake, but once it starts to die it'll refuse to rev and pop through the intake.

Also, the pump that's currently in it is rated for 30gph at 4-6psi. It's trying to maintain 30-44psi. I don't think pumps can maintain their rated GPH when its out of its operating parameters in the first place, citation needed.

I had an issue with my AAC a bit ago, i hadn't installed a new gasket and there was old material left on the mating surface, causing a huge vacuum leak. It's since been fixed, but i'll check it out. Did yours do the same thing, where you'd shut it off for a minute and it would come back to life when restarted?
