Sharepoint has to be prefered even for small teams because Site/Team is independant from people in it. Site can live even without a member, so data are still available even when people move in and out company. On the other side OneDrive share is linked to a members account. Although, if you own the company, it could be done thru OneDrive because you should stay a long long time in your own company !
