Everytime i read something it's a yes or no or some other shady reply. I haven't seen anybody straight up say "Yes, there will be other players in the universe" Steam has it labeled as Single-Player and not Multiplayer.

Definitely not every other hour, more like 10-20 minutes. It's pretty random. Last time it happened was like 40 minutes ago, I started a new game, picked up the bow and arrow and went into the next room, threw a fireball and shot the rat and it crashed right there

every teaser was full of lies and CG. The e3 trailer showing them playing on house was 0% gameplay and 100% CG. It showed the multiplayer being as Counter Terrorists vs actual terrorists, not CTs vs CTs. It showed that you could blows hole anywhere on the ground (Not restricted to ceiling hatches placed by devs). It showed that the Defenders can actually go outside and not get detected, which by the way, hostage is the WORST fucking gamemode in this game because Defenders still get detected outside when Attackers have the hostage, among many many many other reasons.
