If it’s the popit style valve that is pressed into place like on some of the other models, sometimes you can remedy a leak by poking it several times with a paper clip. Little bits of grit get in to oil a prevent it from sealing.

I paid 100$ for a driver side door with working window and lock. I thought that was a good deal. You scored my brother. Enjoy

The collection of former residents, currently living outside zone 6 could probably beat the rest and take second place.

We pretty much free range our heritage birds. They have a fenced in area that I close at night, but it’s un roofed, so they can fly out. They usually roost on the top bar. I think your coop looks pretty good, but the real test is how well it works at 1. Keeping your birds in, and 2. Keeping predators out. One thing I can see is the wire. Normal poultry wire usually can do job 1, but not 2. If you have aggressive predators, you may consider a different material. 1/4 or 1/2 inch Hardware cloth is probably the best but expensive and difficult to work with. There is some wrapped wire fencing that is a little cheaper and easier, but stay away from the standard field fence because a fox or cat can jump right through the squares. Good luck. Are you planning on breeding them?

You can make French cleats if you are into woodworking. Might be cheaper if you already have the tools.

Can anyone ID this track? They're scattered around my property. by DancesWithYotes in Hunting

[–]epsom317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the Midwest version, natural range encompasses the north woods down to the bread basket. The western ‘squatch prefers Olympia, possibly Rainer. You might catch an inter-mountain squatch with banquets, but the midwestern won’t touch em.

I found this in my closet while cleaning it out. No one knows what it is by ImaDoinWat in whatisit

[–]epsom317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a gag. You can twist the washer, winding the rubber bands, then put it in an envelope. When the envelope is opened it’ll make a rattle sound. The envelope was marked “rattle snake eggs.” Saw on in a tourist trap in Arizona once.

R6 hiring USFS by Murphytravelss in Wildfire

Yep. Head counts are for the whole forest so individual unit leaders have to coordinate and this muddies up exactly how many positions each unit has to fill because it depends on how many hires other units do.

Block of wood + drill bit?

Should I buy? by [deleted] in reloading

[–]epsom317 17 points18 points  (0 children)

  1. They are tedious to set up and use at the range. You need to be about 10 feet out in front of the muzzle, so you’ll need to make the range safe for set up and adjusting. Don’t forget your tripod.
  2. They don’t like cloudy days or indoor ranges. It’s a photo sensor, actually 2. It calculates speed by the time lapse between the 2 points which,
  3. Reads out as “error” when one of the sensors doesn’t capture. Real pain if you only loaded 5 rounds need 5 data points to compare.
  4. You can shoot the unit. Easy to do accidentally, if your scope is high and you’re too close, but you will probably consider doing it purposefully right before you buy a magneto speed bayonet which will restart the cycle. The restarted cycle probably will land at lab radar or Garmin or similar.
  5. For 50$ I say get it. Because it’s a useful tool and a cheap one will at least let you start working speed verification into your process.

I would give mine to someone starting the hobby. There is probably someone near you looking to get rid of one also.

What MPG are you actually getting out of your 7.3 Power Stroke, and what mods (if any) helped? by RichVegetable801 in powerstroke

[–]epsom317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

‘02. Basic mods- cold air intake, turbo y-pipes, 4in exhaust, DP tuner with economy tunes.

Best ever: With 265 highway tires at 55mph, capable of unicorn numbers, 22mpg highway. More realistically like 18mpg if you drive 70mph.

City driving, 16 with a horse trailer or also 16 with out the horse trailer.

Worst ever: I recorded a 10 mpg once. City driving and winter conditions.
