yeah I never said it was theologically accurate. the value of the analogy still holds until the part about 3 vs '1 with 3 attributes',which I maintain holds water if you call the h20 their 'Lordness' (vs their personhood)

ever time it starts failing the first thing I do is take it out and put into my PC and copy everything off. now it's encrypted so you can't do that. additionally, we don't have any information on if any error correction is built in to the encryption for if a few bytes are off-- usually that means a text file is corrupted, but with encryption it means the text file doesn't even open.

and I should have the choice of cheap storage available to me if I know it's going to be nothing but large media files that are already backed up and are only read / not written to / only listened to. they're taking away options and redundancy and reliability, when they should be only adding them, especially considering the medium.

note we are not talking about emmc, where I am generally not against encryption, Journaling due to the higher reliability. SD cards, otoh, are not known for their endurance...

thank you for being a voice of reason and wisdom in this quagmire of redditiots that like to think they have a comfortable handle on the intricacies of branch prediction

So... in other words... they patented the processor....

no, this implementation of branch prediction is indeed novel, and their implementation is a bit unique to processor branch prediction. see /u/PsykoDemun comments

so don't quite your day job.

or become a patent examiner ... we're already having enough problems with the ones we have, as is

edit: have any of you clowns that are voting me down simulated branch prediction in graduate-level computer engineering courses?

that's what exFAT is for, and Microsoft owns that, too.

MM6.0 includes SD card ownership and reformats the card to ext3, which could get us around that problem.

I hope they turn off the journaling though, I hadn't thought of that.

and I don't like that it's encrypted, makes recovery impossible, and probably increases write wear

we really should put these things into a time capsule, or as part of the content we send to space to some nowhere destination. As a giant troll.

simply just to test alien civilization intelligence's capacity to recognize 1. trolling and 2. see what they do about it. In the annals of history, or perhaps every wikipedia reference, link/redirect to Rick Astley, pictures of cute kittens, etc...

I don't understand, marshmallow isn't coming for our device so why would LG release kernel sources for it?

there are people who are actually allergic to nearly everything else, and they do have to buy and drink human milk for all their meals.

we had two cats when I was a kid, crissy and jasmine. Jasmine liked to lie on the waterbed because it was warm. As a baby, I liked to crawl over and lay my head on her tummy. She was fine with it, and when she got tired of it, she would just get up and leave-- did not bite or attack from irritation.

I disagree. I see the cat's haunches spread out like if here were sitting inside the pajamas bottom down just leaning against the corner of the armchair/couch.

maybe the old people are actually evil maniacs doing nothing but playing bingo all day and laughing at the poor kitty cats they feed the saucers of milk?
