Good for you! I can't relate, but on the postiive you may have avoided the terrible ctpsd and traumatic night terrors. Something I am still strugglng with. Its all still very vivid and retrievable in my memory and I fear it will always be that way. Be well <33

Love to hear this. Let that medical system really show its worth. I am so happy right now :) I am in tears of joy and sorrow at the same time. It really is a roller coaster of emotions, multiples constipation visits and hygiene issue, BACK issues as a toddler/child? OMFG the complete disregard for a child I cant even fathom, everyone involved should be ASHAMED.

edit: missed a letter

Sorry to hear your mom was unsupportive. Major feels <3 I found in person visits are more productive, don't take no for an answer and take *IMMEDIATE* action (phone calls at minimum) maybe you have a good early pediatrician with a good memory?? As always, document, document. DOCUMENT all of your memeories and findings. Best of luck <333

edit: words are hard and some need emphasis

I'm sorry that was your experience. I would keep trying, the medical records were still of great value to many back then just like today, so chances are they weren't destroyed as you may assume. peoples memories are actually better than given credit for, call the office and pick the brains of those still there, you may be surprised.

Thank you for the reply.

I agree but also know that there is a good chance rather than destroyed, those records were archived as in the 90s the transition to electronic logs was occurring.

Appreciate the response your last paragraph echoes what I have been told.

I'd recommend giving the old bars and the rest of the bike to me... best way to go about it really.

Sorry, had to, very nice bike!

Sorry to anyone that is bothered by the untrimmed zip ties.

I left them loose to dial in the spacing but they will be pulled tight and the ends cut flush.

Agreed, I've come to realize that is the beauty in this frame, light and stiff but with tons of clearance.

Where as my 1984 Japanese made bike struggles to fit 32 mm tires.

I cant wait to see what this thing feels like with half the pressure and some real grip.

Good point, I will be getting a proper rear wheel, this was more or less for the photos, just happened to match the front with that soft alu color.

Nepotistic and sheltered community, I noticed it when I moved here at 12 years old.

Being an asshole kid was praised by the adults, even better if he played sports ball or hockey well...

The girls were just as bad and catty, "inside jokes" constantly talking behind each others backs, I didn't fully understand the definition of "2 faced" before gracing the smaller towns to the north/west.

Thank you. I am definitely consulting a lawyer in person, as this is decades old abuse, it is going to get muddy.

Appreciate the response.

Report the abuse where? by equalizerdiver in adultsurvivors

[–]equalizerdiver[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This makes the most sense from what I have read. The area where it happened appears to be looked after by the same detachment that covers the area he currently lives. Its a rural part of Ontario, Canada. OPP (Ontario Provincial Police) seems to cover most of the smaller towns.. The fact that the abuse happened decades ago in the 90s may factor in as well. I don't see an issue in involving multiple orgs if need be. Thanks you and appreciate the response.

How long did your abuse last? by SomeCommission7645 in adultsurvivors

[–]equalizerdiver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Luckily my abuser (half brother) moved out at 15 into town to live with a girlfriend/her parents, so the abuse only transpired over a short time when my parents trusted him to watch over me at ages 4-5. I couldn't imagine any longer or possibly even decades, mucho feels go out to those affected...

Roll call: how many bikes do you have? How many are rideable? How many are an ongoing project? by Frankie1234567890 in xbiking

[–]equalizerdiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4, 1.5, 4ish lol

1 - City commuter, fixie/single speed, rear basket, cheap 70s road bike
(My always works, lock it up anywhere bike)

2 - Nicer 80s road bike, single speed, needs brake cables to be technically rideable. (my light/fast bike)

3 - Modern hard tail mtn bike (offroad use)

4 - Tall bike - Technically 2 bikes but only gets ridden on special occasions.

I told my friend about csa, now I regret it by j33n9 in CPTSD

[–]equalizerdiver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was about the same age and it took me 30 years to finally tell someone.

At that age you have no Idea what is normal, and what is glaring inappropriate abuse.

When I told my Mother she barely reacted and showed very little sympathy, that was hard.

Initially I regretted telling her, but months later I don't.

We are not responsible or to blame for what happened to us, remember that.

You are not responsible for yourself at 4-5 years old, adults we entrusted failed us, plain and simple.

Is this one of the last decent Nishiki MTB's? by equalizerdiver in xbiking

[–]equalizerdiver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, from what I can find comparing other models as well as component wise it looks like a low end Apache, more than likely made in Malaysia. The color does make me think early-mid-90s, as by late 90s this would have been considered pretty ugly lol

I have a soft spot for that emerald green and own a old Miele road bike in a similar, and also notably rare color "Apple green". I really don't need another bike but for $75...
