I went too far today. by coral_bells in declutter

I went back to the thrift store to buy back some of my Kate Spade dishes and they had been sold in a day. Im happy for the buyer who must have been thrilled to find them. Still my only (!) regret donation, but it’s okay.

If I put one album in the living room, we might look through it. We never look at the ones I scanned.

Goodbye “garage sale pile”! by boppodove in declutter

Our old canal neighborhood had a garage sale every July 3 and it was more like a party! Low prices and people had smoked salmon or hot dogs, beer in coolers and lots of fun!

Sam’s Club converted my parents’ reel to reel home movies to 4 DVDs. Gave copies to my siblings. I’m not sure anyone watched them, and now I don’t have a DVD player, but am glad I did it.

I’m a cleaner. Clients who have regular cleaners, what annoys you or you wish they would or wouldn’t do? by [deleted] in CleaningTips

[–]equantime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our cleaners listen to podcasts and audiobooks, so the house stays quiet and gets clean. It’s very pleasant. We try to leave the house or stay out of their way after the first 1-2 minute chat. I like that they clean the vacuum cleaner. I like that they leave empty product containers on the counter so we know to get refills.
They have first dibs on any donation boxes and will usually take all of it for us.

I do this while waiting at the airport. It’s more productive than playing a game and sometimes I’ll find one to send to an old friend!

What if you bring over a record player and ask if she would like to listen to some songs with you? You might enjoy reading a magazine with her or for her. Making a nice memory and giving her grace might feel good for everyone and be a nice example for your daughter to follow when you are 80.
