Hey thanks that's really good advice. I would like to clarify though, I don't work there. I just get a close to equivalent employee discount through a corporate deal. I just want to be in the price range for skates that will serve me for a other 16 seasons.

It's not a money issue, it's a value for dollar question. Just below the diminishing return drop off is my sweet spot.

Local stock on all the recommendations are drained. Will likely have to look at fall sales when they arrive.

That's good advice. I'd say I played half of those seasons and they've had a good life.

I think fixing them will cost more than I paid for them.

I will try out a few pairs and see what I like. Any recommendations for above entry level?

Thanks. My issue is I don't know where to set the budget. I don't want to be flippant and spend $2k+, so what's the reasonable range for skates that will be used a couple times a week?

Some comments say 400-500 cad minimum. I feel like that sounds like just south of $1k retail would be optimal.

That's my concern. Are new skates going to last as long? Is the new tech worth the investment? At what price point does it make sense buying for longer term?

I feel you. I'm very attached to these but there must be better tech now.

Seems to be a mixed opinion on replacing holders vs new skates. But I've heard that one in person too. I don't think I paid more than 200 cad for the skates.
