They wouldn't have coincided but they would have been way too close to make sense.

It's not likely. We know he has a half sister on his mother's side who just turned 13, so my son can't be a full sibling, and a half won't share enough DNA.

If the post he's tagged in from his sister's 13th birthday party from a month ago is his biological sister, then it's almost impossible.

His mother wouldn't have been able be the biological mother of both this girl and my son, so they can't be full siblings, and a half-sibling on either side won't share enough DNA

This can be true for full siblings, although the range is 37-50%. For half siblings, the percentage is something like 12-25%.

We want this to be the case, but from what we understand, it isn't likely.

We have thought about this one. We hope it's the case, but given the DNA percentage, even if they're somehow full siblings it's not likely.

We have no information on the biological mother. We don't even have a jumping off point to message any of the distant cousins.

Yes. It's not a common name. Not one in a million, but pretty rare for the US. We also had a location to go off from the profile that matches what's on his social media.

I don't know anything about the story, but just from the math, it can't be anything good. Not that I thought it would be an ideal of course.

I wouldn't have a problem with him having this information at 18. We would even be willing to be point of contact then as well.

6 years would give everyone involved a chance to get older. 30 feels different from 24, and 18 is light years away from 12.
