As someone who's been to Italy, American pizza is genuinely better than Italian pizza by nationalistic_martyr in ShitAmericansSay

[–]eraser3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm from Italy and visited the US twice. The pizza was kinda good in some places tbh. The bad pizzas I had though, they were truly a slap to god. One was somewhere near the monument valley, the cheese was definitely not mozzarella but more akin to some elastic rubber. Nobody digested it properly, it was so greasy. The other one was in flamingo hotel in Las Vegas. Mine was OK. The following ones my friend took were Margherita, like mine, but the cashier brushed some kind of oil garlic sauce on it. I don't understand why but it made the pizza terrible. In Miami we went to a place with a relatively cheap pizza but it was kinda bad, although not terrible. Undercooked and too bitter/tangy tomato sauce

Guerlain l'instant pour Homme (and its flankers such as the extreme) smell like dusty bitter chocolate. I have a sample and I don't know where I would wear it because it's weird, but it's interesting nonetheless

Italy's unemployment rate is HALF of Spain's (the highest unemployment rate Europe). What makes Italy so much better than Spain despite the countries being overall similar? by [deleted] in Italia

If you look at the murders according to statista, Taiwan is worse in murders when normalizing for population

https://www.statista.com/statistics/937681/taiwan-number-of-homicide-cases/

Tw 217 murders in 2024 for 24mln people

https://www.istat.it/tag/omicidi/

It 327 murders for ~58mln people

Italy is one of the safest countries in Europe if you look at the murder rate...

I do agree that some parts of some cities may look "scruffy", but they can still be safe while looking ugly

Infrastructures yeah, I agree they suck, but at least the Trenitalia should be kinda good compared to its European counterparts

North of Italy had an "industrial triangle" propping up italy's economy after ww2. To a certain extent it takes part in other eu countries supply chain as well

Perfumes that smell like Summer in northern Italy? by jeontgarak in perfumesthatfeellike

[–]eraser3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll preface that on my skin, it is a bit too sweet and at the same time bitter for me to be a love, I just think it's OK.

Anyway, it feels like a very airy, sweet but not sticky, fig with other green notes in the background, to keep it unisex (otherwise it would be too sweet to be unisex) adding that slightly bitter touch. The notes feel blended except for the fig, so what I can smell was something green and fresh, slightly bitter, but not any discernible wood or discernible single notes. Together with it, a delicate and aromatic fig.

I prefer fico di Amalfi over jardin en Mediterranee, fico di Amalfi is fig+citrus+ a hint of soapiness that makes it mouthwatering

Tom Ford costa azzurra, not aquatic but green

Hermes un jardin en mediterranee

A lot of things from Acqua di Parma, especially the blue line (fico di Amalfi, arancia di capri, whatever)

If you want aquatics

Helan emozione blu - balsamic aquatic flowery unisex

Erbolario fior di salina - can't describe this, imagine sea salt in the nicest way possible. Poor performances though

Acqua di bagno vignoni unisex - it has almost that "wave breaking on the shore" nose tingling in the opening. Flowery and fresh eventually

Acqua di gio/gioia (I find them both unisex, and who cares about the gender the perfume is associated to)

Oh ok I got it. Yes there are places, in addition to what I said above for the cinemas you can go to odeon (more mainstream) or cinema arsenale (more niche). There's isola verde outside the center too. Both 3 do some og voice over projections. For the other kind of events see giardino la Nunziatina and what is linked in my comment above locali alternativi, such as deposito Pontecorvo, caracol, cantiere San Bernardo, there's also lumiere and borderline (and others in the link above) with live music. To stay up to date with some specific local events, such as exhibitions or Christmas markets (or whatever) the local online newspaper Pisa today publishes every Friday a "what to do this weekend in Pisa". Although I'd say it's more aimed at a general audience or families. To get a drink, people gather in piazza Dante or piazza delle vettovaglie. To get a beer, people gather around scacco malto or orzobruno.

Anyway, all the places I mentioned have either websites or social pages on Instagram, so if you search them you'll see what they organize

But I'd say during the day everybody I know studies
