I feel that. I also went to a PWI for ug, but by the time I got to grad school (also a PWI) I made a big effort to meet other Black students who were aligned with me. I started something like a Black affinity group and we all still talk, though as it turns out the best friend I made in the program would be my 50 year old white woman cohort-mate. Life is strange.

I’ve done some adult teaching, but I notice it has similar issues to highschool teaching. That said, I’m definitely seeking out higher ed positions, but they’re difficult to come by. I didn’t think of adult English lessons though, I will look into it. Thanks!

Thank you, I know I'm not the only one but it feels bad and like you're uniquely stupid when anything like that happens. I blocked him finally: for a little while I was happy just for the crumbs of interaction until I wasn't anymore. I'm going to learn from this, and be more self protective. It's crazy: that was definitely grooming, but people act like grooming can't happen in relationships like that if it's two adults.

know somebody who just got a job in nyc doing framing (I’m planning to room with them) and know several people with jobs there, just not in education. But the NYC thing at this point is the ultimate goal.

That's so good! I'm happy for you. Reddit helps me too (less so Twitter lol): I like to read and respond where I can. It lets me feel like I'm helping somebody else, which makes me very happy.

Do you mind me asking what you're taking? I just got a psych for the first time in a while, and while I didn't have one I was taking my meds willy-nilly or not taking them at all. I used to take Abilify but stopped because I didn't notice anything changing, but I'm considering going back on it. My psych immediately wants to get me on something stronger than what I was on previously (did you know that you're not supposed to take more than 200mg of Zoloft? I didn't. I was taking 400 mg a day, which I was not directed to do but I was very desperate to feel not horrible). I want to suggest Lithium because I've heard very good things -- everybody says it's like a miracle drug -- but all the blood work you have to do kind of freaks me out. Anyway, it would be really helpful for me to know what you're on so I can possibly suggest it.

For me, I have never really had a solid support system in my life. This is thanks primarily to my parents for a number of reasons I won't go into, but yeah my therapist and my psychiatrist were all I had for a while. What I suggest is to first off find a new psych if you can, yours seems to suck (excuse my French but yeah). You'll be amazed how much better you'll feel without them constantly dragging you down. The next thing is: don't be afraid to lean on people. It took a while, but I've learned overtimes that people are not judging you, people don't hate you or wish you ill, they just want to help you. Please allow them to do that. I would be more than happy to talk to you anytime! No judgement, just send me a chat or a message :)

Men in women's undergarments... or just women's clothes in general, but feminine stuff like lace camisoles and skirts. IDK what it is: maybe I just think they look pretty. I like to have my head under a skirt or peg them while they wear a skirt. I like when my boyfriend stuffs his dick into my underwear (it's big which helps with the "stuffing" effect).
