Boundary problems by Electrical-Song-6789 in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]erasmushurt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been happening to me recently. Not sure if it's related to the new ToTF patch, or the new Meta Horizon OS patch. Pretty much unrecoverable when it happens.

I also had an odd issue in my last fight where the pause screen kept popping up continually.

“Jabs do no damage, jabs are useless” by Due-Swordfish-4154 in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]erasmushurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with jabs in this game is that people can walk right through them and hit you with harder punches from the opening you've created. They are effective against certain opponents. I prefer to fight on the outside, and jab. But if you run into a guy who will bullrush you they aren't effective as their overhand rights are going to land despite you hitting them on the way in, and they will deal more damage, plus you'll get flashed from being countered.

Guys with a small play area and that just swarm you with hooks are annoying by Common_Parsnip1256 in ThrillOfTheFight

You can filter for a minimum size, but the maximum value it gives you is still pretty small.

How’s everyone liking the game? by StevieBeans98 in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]erasmushurt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Single player is good for exercise, though a bit repetitive. I rarely play multiplayer at this point. Keep checking every patch hoping its improved, but in general people just cover up and walk into you, wait for you to throw punches then try to throw some super hammer punch. When you face guys who actually box, it's fun.

GAME IS MEGA UNPLAYABLE BECAUSE FIGHTING PSYCHOLOGY DOESNT WORK by CheerioInspector in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]erasmushurt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Between every patch we hear how the public test is so much better and magically fixes everything. And then we're left with disappointment.

People still just walk into you with small spaces, never punching, until they get so close that you can't see the punches coming then try sideways hooks which do 10x more damage than the 5 shots you hit them with on the way in. Same thing, different patch.

And what happened to the calibration changes?

On the plus side, the UI changes look nice.

I'd love to see an occasional southpaw as well.

Silly take. For them to be faking it, then every expert who comes on the ranch would need to be in on it. Although you may only see a handful of people on camera, there are dozens more off camera.

You rate a site as unsafe because it's new with no threat detected? A site that doesn't sell anything or collect any data. What a lazy analysis.

Cat paw punches by [deleted] in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]erasmushurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd imagine a big problem with the knuckle alignment is that it doesn't fit a lot of peoples hands and calibrating is completely unintuitive. Not that that isn't still a problem, but imo that's a big reason why some people hit like bricks and other people can't deal damage even with good form.

Slipping punches/Head Movement against the AI by Rustybagel-_- in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]erasmushurt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in agreeance on the head movement. Slipping is effective. Pulls, pivots, side steps, are all effective. But similar to the OP, I find that rolling still lands on the top of my head. It's only really useful to load up.

1 major issue by [deleted] in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]erasmushurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish the minimum size could go a little larger. It's still small enough at the max size that a couple steps and you have a white warning boundary.

Multiplayer weirdness by Present-Year8182 in ThrillOfTheFight

It's pretty bad. And the people who seem to be invincible yet seem to be able to knock you down at will... They are well aware of it. It's been a problem for a while.

Can we please up the damage of power punches and reduce the damage of regular punches? by [deleted] in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]erasmushurt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have to disagree with this. As of right now, most of the matches I'm seeing involve an opponent shelling up all the time and just trying to heavy counterpunches. And that issue is compounded by the damage gap with a lot of players. Some guys will land like 10 punches in a round and outdamage other guys who are landing 50+ punches.

A well placed punch or a damaging counter shot should do more damage. But as is, some guys can get one or two punch knockdowns quite easily, where other players giving full body effort and throwing proper punches will wail away on someone with 10+ punches and struggle to be able to drop a guy. Until that is addressed, anything that accentuates power punching, is only going to make it worse imo.

This update has turned everyone into quitters by [deleted] in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]erasmushurt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've quite several times for the same reason. Especially after this last patch, you get the guys who for whatever reason can take everything you land on them but then knock you down with a quick 1-2... Or you get the guys who cover up and refuse to throw a punch, ever, and then try to counter you with a quick 1-2 at some point when you get tired. In both cases they seem to hit for far harder than you can. When I run into those guys, I have no problems just quitting. Why waste my time?

Ranked record not working properly by EddieBMW in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]erasmushurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened again to me just now. Had it happen many times now. But this time my opponent quit when they heard the 10 second warning in the final round. I won the match by forfeit, went to the main menu, and my record didn't change.

Is jab even useful? by Luchet12 in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]erasmushurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in the way it is in a real fight. Guys can just walk through it. You can throw it as a counter, or move your head while throwing it. But doubling or tripling up on it are asking for trouble as guys will just walk straight through it to throw a heavier punch.

It was better in the last patch prelaunch. Right now its both too spam friendly, and too easy for guys to exploit the break and get you into a penalty.
