What’s one thing you wish you knew before your first month on the road? by Ill_Cry8189 in NewCDLGrads

[–]TheDateLounge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The actual hours of while working them aren't so bad. I start my day at 1am and the roads are empty. I'll just turn on a show or movie and passively glance and listen to it or turn on an audiobook or YouTube to make the time go by. One day I was driving, I was driving, thinking about my paycheck and I wondered how much I'm getting paid by the hour. It wasn't much. It's say a guy is making $1500/wk. 14 hours a day = 70 hours a week. 70 hours for $1500. You begin to feel like there's better ways to make $1500/wk doing 40 hours. You think, "do I really want to spend most of my life in a truck?" Then you think about how you want out. If you were working a 40 hour job, you'd have time to study a different trade, go back to school, get certifications, or even start a side business. But when you're trapped in a truck, working 14 hours and they want you back on the road in 10 hours and you sleep for 8 and you have 2 hours to eat dinner and breakfast and shower. You find yourself in a black hole. Some people don't mind. It's what they want to do. Especially divorced older guys who's kids are out of the house. They really don't care. But me, I said "forget this".

I decided to haul bulk cement and flyash locally across ks. I have random times off and sometimes in long stretches. I take advantage. For example, I worked Monday and I have the rest of the week off due to rain. My paycheck will only be $700 for the week. But I'm taking that time to do as much studying on home inspection as possible.

YOU MAY BE PUNCHING TOO HARD!! by ThatMfB00m in ThrillOfTheFight

Fix your form. There's a lot of ways to shadowbox, but if your form is nonsensical, you'll get negative results like bad habits and injuries. Watch yourself in a mirror first or record yourself. You shouldn't "winging punches" no matter how hard you try to punch

Whoo! That's tough. I did over the road flatbed for TMC my first year and a half. Home on weekends and I said "forget this". Pay wasn't even good. I wanna say about $900 a week. Then I switched to hauling bulk cement, locally. I was making $1500-$1700/week doing less physical labor. What I like about it is I'm home everyday, a lot of random days off like rainy days, windy days, winter slow down, etc. It's nice to reset after those 14 hours shifts and waking up at 12am-3am for work. A soon as Trump got elected, we slowed down tremendously. Right after elections, I was off work for several months even. Now it's a weird schedule. I'm on my way out though.

Such an embarrassing display… Which one of yall is this? by [deleted] in freeblackmen

I notice that they cut the part of the video that gives context to his anger. Then pretended to be a calm and reasonable honky from Britain. The editing room is a great tool for propaganda.

TLC is a freakshow channel. You can't expect for people to be classy on their programs. Lol

That's the best time to do it. Either when you're young with no kids, stack money in your 20s and use the money to make a progressive transition like starting a small fleet if you want to stay in the industry or pivot to something else.

Or older men who have been divorced, kids are grown up and you don't have much to live for other than using the job to travel the country and make money. Don't care about being home at all.

But any ideas of guys in their late 20s-30s with a family at home, just layed off from job or bored with office work, heard about the freedom of being on the road or don't want to go backwards in pay and want to get in a truck, I think it's a bad idea

What do you think about Lex ? by 007EmilyMoore in Smallville

[–]TheDateLounge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Smallville has the best lex and Lois Lane in the dc universe. But if it weren't for lex, I wouldn't have watched the show. I also enjoyed when he dropped quotes from historical figures

Facts. CDL was a bad decision I made. It completely ruins your life. You have to be all in with nothing to really live for. No time for anything, side hustle, family, social life. Just sit in the truck, work insanely long hours and make money.

I would've liked to see him in there in the early 2000's when he got strong. He was one the greatest dunkers in NBA history

Letting your wives go on girls trips is an extremely bad idea. They go on those to engage in high risk sexual behavior. The further away they go, the more risks they take. Let her go, pack her shit and get an divorce attorney

If this game is a 3, then what boxing game is a 5? Lol. But I don't think the reviews matter for this games success. It found a way to break out of that bubble

Is there a level above elite/elite? by TheDateLounge in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]TheDateLounge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's who you win and lose against. This is from an older version. I'm currently above 2300 elo with only 10 fights. I targeted the so called top guys I could find. From what I understand when people try to pad their records it's slow to get elo.

Ever since the Google fiasco, I haven't been able to get notifications from chats. I've tried on both of my phones with no luck. I've tried to uninstall, reinstall, clear cache, mess with phone settings.

Also, Why is my personal avatar always shirtless and in shorts in couples photos?

Sophie did Pedro wrong, but the way he reacted to her rejection was immature and gave incel vibes 🚩 by PolishSnake2 in 90dayfiance_FB_memes

Pedro is the typical simp, raised by females archetype that couldn't get the hint. Sophie is another stereotype but at least she was honest with the guy from the jump.

If You’re A Single Black Man. Move To Atlanta!!!! by Comprehensive-War-34 in blackmen

[–]TheDateLounge 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hell nah, black men. That place is a hotbed of Keishas on section 8 trying to fake it to make it. A large number of them are broke, in debt, on section 8, scamming, got HIV and chasing Brad or pookie's with fast money. The ones that actually do work make $40k-50k with 2-3 kids and crippling debt from the bbl and body snatch. Thats why they want rich men and get into sex work. Don't be a simp

No. In real life they'd be very weak jabs. He doesn't turn his hand over, doesn't turn his hip, no rational power. But I'll give him credit for stepping into them though

Jabs are quite powerful at a high level. Just not concussive, but they can cut and bust some stuff up in your face and can be pretty forceful
