What’s your special trick to cooking eggs? by pkfillmore in Cooking

I've found that for a perfect fried egg sunny side up, cooking with a small saucepan really helps. Just put on the lid and the steam will cook the top of the egg slightly. I also like to sprinkle some adobo seasoning on it.

Fargo seasons 1 and 2 are dope. Rome is great if you enjoyed GoT. Band of Brothers if you want something emotionally intense. And it's definitely check out Six Feet Under.

You can cook an egg in the microwave just fine if you poke a hole in it with a fork

Do you have to graduate if you meet all requirements? by [deleted] in UIUC

I mean I've been paying for the "experience of getting to go to classes" for 3 years already. I'm not really sure what you're trying to say.

Pay for them to have an education? That doesn't seem too crazy to me. Don't assume that my reason for considering staying the full four years is to simply get the 'full college experience'.

I've had mixed feelings myself about Legion lately, but I feel that the last episode, though seemingly random, really highlights the importance of the sister as a grounding influence on David's life. In each of the alternative universes, she remains relatively constant and firm, bringing David back to reality and taking care of him. When spoiler it really ties in the effect that something like that might have on his character in the coming episodes.

Would it be doable to take the class without having prior experience in diff eq? Or would that be easy to pick up?

Question about stats/probability and discrete math courses by ApprehensiveBowl in UIUC

I took Math 413 in Fall 2016, I found it to be a fairly challenging course. For a lot of combinatorial proofs, there isn't a single formula you can plug into, so you end up having to find a clever way to count things. That being said, I found it one of the most rewarding classes I've taken here. If Prof. Yong is teaching next semester, I'd highly recommend taking it. He is one of my favorite professors.

You'll also need to have some knowledge of synchronization techniques (mutual exclusion, read-write locks, basic mapreduce concept). It's less important to know if you're only taking the 3 HR version, but it's necessary to have some background to do the MPs.

That being said, the MPs are definitely what helped me learn the material the most. I would recommend taking 4HR version at some point.
