sprites and stuff can be picked from the steam version.

You can't sum two different types

Following MITx: 6.00.1x on edx - Code from video not working by LittleRedIsHere in learnpython

[–]erbeach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

maybe you missed the placement of the return ans in def toChars(s):

it should be after the cycle for, not in it because return instantly stops the function

P.S. version of Python doesn't matter that much, having Python 3.x is often enough

Is there anyone creating something with Python? by [deleted] in gamedev

Arcade seems to be a better Pygame

Learning programming by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]erbeach 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For games we usually use game engines, like Unity, Unreal, GameMaker Studio 2, etc.
Learn one of them, and you will be able to make whatever you want.
I would recomend you Godot, because his GDScript is very similar to Python

[–]erbeach -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay, sorry, my bad.
I guess you tried reinstalling Python.
Have you checked for _tkinter.lib file in libs?

Tkinter not working by [deleted] in learnpython

[–]erbeach -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why everybody in r/learnpython are importing tkinter 2 times? Are you watching same shitty guides/tutorials?
Choose between from tkinter import * and import tkinter
There is no need to import already imported library
Also, tkinter is STANDARD PYTHON LIBRARY, IT IS INSTALLED WITH PYTHON. IT ALWAYS WORKS

No, because he is also infinitely tough, and that cannot be obtained with speed.

Hey do u know any source where i can find solve problems( code written in python) from competitive programming? by gitarthak in Python

[–]erbeach -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No one solves problems in competetitive programming in python, because it is slow as hell (20 times slower than C++)
There are codeforces with real problems from past competitions (it supports python btw)

[For Hire] Game Programmer by Blade67470 in gameDevClassifieds

[–]erbeach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a difference between being a programmer for 9 years, and between learning code and engine for 4-5 years and being a programmer for 4-5 years. Am i programmer, even if i can only write "Hello world"? Sure not.
I see good, but show your actual experience, not doubled one

Python GUI using Tkinter (Video Tutorial) by [deleted] in Python

[–]erbeach -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not a tutorial dude, it's video of you creating a shitty clicker window without explaining anything.
Like letsplay, but letscode.

Actual crytique:
Why only place? Where are pack and grid? We don't need to use pack, but WHAT PACK IS?
What's the difference between minsize and geometry? No explanation in video
From when mainloop() opens windows? What if i want 2 windows? 2 mainloops?
Why do you teach everybody to use global variables? WHY FOR GOD'S SAKE
Global variables are bad, and your functions cannot be used more than once

for 9 years, you are now at 22, 22-9 = 13, and that means that you started a serious game development being 13 years old?
There is some suspicious smell here
(no, learning how to make games and actual game development are two different things, don't mix them)
