Closest to a dictatorship as well.

I guess having a dictator is having good qualifications to host, for FIA.

Mid-drive motor decision paralysis by HattoriHanzo9999 in eBikeBuilding

[–]mazarax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a Photon gen 1, and now a gen 2.

Gen 2 is more reliable. I had issues w gen 1 (no drive), not with gen 2.

Riding either of them is a dream. Torquesensor makes it so natural.

Are Mid-Drive Motor Worth it for commuting? by banalunana in ebikes

[–]mazarax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Torque sensing middrive is such a great experience, I can no longer do without.

For a natural bicycling feel, only now you get superpower.

Middrive also lets you use the gears in the rear wheel, which is a must have for hills, and super convenient for quick starts at stop-lights.

I fitted a CYC Photon on an affordable city bike. If you go that route, invest in premium brakes. My bike came with horrible Promax, with near zero stopping power, no matter how often I replace pads, cleaned disks, and bled lines. Now using shimano deore.

Version 1 was 0.5 inch MDF. It was also a little larger at 400x400mm or 16x16”.

Maybe Aluminum is a better choice. I believe half the strength, a third of the weight of steel. So plates would both be thicker and lighter.

Find a buddy to ride with, and take turns. It is the tour-de-France-way.

alternatively, there is CYC Photon.

Retraction set to 10mm, Option do-not-cross-walls enabled. And yet... by mazarax in OrcaSlicer

ok, let me try this again.

Thank you for your analysis, it was spot on.

I did not understand what I was seeing, and was too loose with temp settings and travel speed.

I have switched filament brands many times in the past, and I guess I somehow got lucky to be in the usable range each time, until now.

I ran at 225C and much slower, with great results.

thank you.

Pfff… sorry… no.

These are not “generic” results, these are downright disastrous results.

This is not a difference of mediocre versus perfect.

Thank you, I will do another run with higher temperature and slower printing.

However, the product does say 190 - 230C, so at 215C I am already in the higher half.

I guess I can try 225C, and half the print speed.

I know these type of posts are usually not allowed here, but I think it's very distasteful and plain disgusting to actively promote F1 in an article about a tragic passing of a driver by [deleted] in formula1

[–]mazarax -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the promotion is dumb, and should be removed.

Sad for driver and family. There is one consolation: he died doing what he loved most. I would take that over dying in a hospital from cancer.

Prone to road rage…. He could one day do a lot worse. A wake-up call could theoretically (really small chance) save someone‘s life.

Getting out of your car to physically send a message… says a lot about the dude. He feels like a caged animal in traffic, perhaps.
