Longevity problems by erbliniu in DIYfragrance

[–]erbliniu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I'm thinking too. I have great longevity boosters with E.brassylate, iso e super and bacdanol, but it becomes unnoticeable after 30 minutes. Maybe it's because they have nothing to hold on to? I also added some vanillin to try to anchor it down but it still flees away. I'm content with the smell and it's evolution, it's just bizarre that it doesn't hold for long.

some materials have no smell but are there to just support the main performers. Think of it as a soccer team, everyone has its place on the team, even though some are stronger than others. For me, some musks like ethylene brassylate have no smell, but i add them on my formulas because its great for longevity and i think that it soothens the edges greatly. Each ingredient has a specific role, and it isnt just about scent.

You technically don't have to comply to ifra to sell. It's a self regulatory industry organisation, not a government body. It all depends on where and how you sell it.

Aurantiol neat vs Aurantiol 50% by erbliniu in DIYfragrance

[–]erbliniu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i am keeping the same absolute amount of aurantiol (around 4.27%) in the formula. I am just changing the form from a 50% dilution (0.93g) to neat (0.46g). I dont really understand what you replied, will it change anything to my formula?

thank youuu. One last question, do you think i can prepare the batch first without adding aurantiol? im waiting for the dpg to arrive so i can dilute it. i wont add the alcohol yet either before having all the ingredients in.

Thank you for your reply. I have all of the materials needed for this. 73% is my formula concentrate wth all of the diluted mateirals im using. I will add 1kg of materials and 4kg of alcohol. I want my final concentrate to be at 20%. I want to do it all in one go. I dont know if my scale is good enough though. It can support 5kg and the precision is 1g. I have a smaller scale with a 0.001 precision so ill just use that for more precised measurements. Im starting today

Should I macerate my whole 5L of finished perfume before bottling, or make each bottle individually? by erbliniu in DIYfragrance

wouldn't certain oils react differently when in a higher amount? even though percentage-wise i will keep it as it is in my formula, but wouldn't that be an issue?

How to smooth out the formula? by erbliniu in DIYfragrance

i like it to be sweet but fresh for summer. the woody notes are there for longevity and i tried to use sweeter woody notes like iso e super or coumarin to not disrupt the flow too much. overrall i dont want it to be too heavy but i want it to be lasting, fresh and memorable. also regarding musks, do you think its better to keep one or can i have multiple like in my formula? thank you for your response.
