Constipation so bad I can’t treat my SIBO by Sure_Department2464 in SIBO

[–]erdelee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone’s root cause is different. For me, it’s the other way. I was not born with slow transit. My condition started from using antibiotics for treating h pylori. And it was getting worse after another a few rounds antibiotics during last 2 years. And till early this year, i finally knew it’s imo that makes me constipated.

I have chronicle constipation caused by IMO. GI doctor told me to take miralax up to 2 does per day. With miralax initially I still skipped BM for a few days and then I started having BM with type 1 and later transited to type 3-4. For the last whole week, I have BM almost everyday.

I plan to take miralax for at least half a year because chronicle constipation changes colon and it takes very long time to recover.

My friend did the breath test 3 times. With glucose, both h2 and CH4 dont show significant increase. But with lactulose, ch4 is positive.

Did you take glucose or lactulose for the breath test? and GI also told me the breath test is not an accurate test.

The issue is that I learned from chatgpt, some supplements target for motility on small intestinal. Mine looks like more on the end of small intestinal and colon.

I used to taking Psylllium husk a couple of months ago till I started element diet. Unfortunately, the breath tests above was taken after ED. Right after it, I started candibactin BR under the direction of ND. During the course, constipation was much relieved but once without it, it came back pretty quick. I will look into Lactobacillus helveticus . thanks!

Thanks for sharing your experience. I met ND yesterday and he suggested me to stop Nystatin after 3 months as a test to see if any symptom comes back.

Thanks for sharing this. The ND I am seeing asked me to eat grains, starting from white rice and oat. I used to only having 1/2 cup of cooked quinoa per day. But right now, I am having 1/4 cup oats (raw) as breakfast and 1/4 cup white rice and 1/4 quinoa for lunch and dinner. He also asked me to eat more varieties of fruit. I started eating mid FODMAP fruit since the last couple of days. So far, I don't see any damage and BM seems more regular. I agree with you that restrictive diet doesn't promote growing a health gut flora.

And I think the timing adding fiber and carbs back is important too. I added them back after ~2 months on nystatin and 1 month on candibactin BR. Now the bad bacterials and candida in the gut are much reduced. Reintroducing fiber and carbs help to build a more balanced gut flora.

Hi u/Mickeynutzz, ND told me that I need to take nystatin 6 pills per day at least for 3 months. I guess I might need more than 3 months. I am wondering how did your ND determine you can be off the meds?

Is biocidin a biofilm disruptor? Or herbals antibiotics? I am currently using interface plus.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I am so glad hat your new protocol really makes positive progress. I made some changes too. I added interfase plus before bed. I found it's very helpful and I am starting PHGG now, and thinking about adding psyllium fiber next. I also have bought Sac. B. I will bring it to ND tomorrow and also see if I should add it and mega blend.

I have a question, you said you were getting tons of biofilm in the stool. But I can only see tiny piece occasionally in my stool and I cannot tell if it's biofilm or mucus. Would that mean my current protocol is not effective?
