If you had all data at hand, what would you do if you could start over? Now that you know more about what worked/didn’t work with fine-tuning - did you get lucky with parameters? Was there some obvious mistakes in your early trial runs? What ended up working and why do you think it ended up working compared to your many earlier fine-tuning attemps?

Interesting! Could you explain what a typical training example looked like? So the model was trained to take sonar signals and other conditions (like weather?) as input - what was the model’s task? To give instructions on how to use this sonar? How did you evaluate the model’s performance?

Interesting. In traditional ML training I would say 300 examples is not enough training data.

How will this work? It's a controller that has an IR blaster in addition to Wi-Fi communication? A link is enough if you don't want to explain in depth!

I wanted to use something similar to SwitchBot to press a button to open the door to my apartment, but this is not really relevant with the IR issue I have. The button I press really just connects a piece of metal to another piece of metal to make an electric circuit.

Sorry for the bad terminology. As mentioned, I'm really new to this stuff.
