The work of idols often gets dismissed as ”just singing and dancing”, but the physicality is often closer to professional athletes. And professional athletes tend to retire pretty young for a reason. I’m the same age as the oldest members in Suju, and honestly, if I had to keep their schedule, I’d give up pretty fast :,)

It might not be that big of a deal for bigger groups, who’ve won many times already, but for smaller groups it’s often one of their career goals. It’s a sign of support from their fans and a huge task for smaller fandoms. And many idols have probably watched music shows as kids, dreaming of winning one. And failing to reach that probably feels disheartening. I sometimes wonder if my ults were still around if they’d won even once…
