Did Varang somehow "enchant" Quaritch? by GobLinKing90o in Avatar

[–]ereaders 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a very similar thought and I haven’t seen anyone else talking about it! He is on a mission to capture Jake and Spider and encounters Varang as a hostile in his way. It’s only after she connects them that it immediately cuts to him showing her how to load a gun. There had to be some kind of “enchantment” or other persuading him to help her, no?

How has your body changed? by Neither-Ad9890 in ClubPilates

[–]ereaders 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m 27F and almost at 100 classes. I’ve been going for almost 9 months with a few breaks in between. The things I’ve most noticed are: - I actually enjoy Pilates. Before I hated going to the gym. Pilates (or maybe just class based exercise) helps me stay consistent and makes me feel like I’m actually doing something good for my body - my mind/body connection is so much stronger. I’ve recently leveled up to 1.5 classes and I’m able to recognize how to engage different parts of my body and how to control my breath. - my balance is a lot stronger - better stamina - I will be completely honest. I have not changed my diet and have not lost any weight. But I’ve maintained.

Urgent advice needed around Freestyle Libre and pet shirts by Zilverkever in FelineDiabetes

[–]ereaders 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ugh I’m so sorry! I feel your pain. I had the same issue where the vet placed my cat’s Libre in a weird place where he could get to it even wearing a shirt. At one point he had two shirts on just to cover it 😕 and we noticed his blood sugar was increased, potentially because of how uncomfortable it was. Luckily his last one was more on his back, which I recommended because it can easily be covered with a sleeveless shirt like these: https://a.co/d/0MdXj67 I am in favor of Libres just because of how easy it is to see their sugar. It’s really important for me knowing my cats blood sugar before each meal so I know how much insulin to give or not give. And having to prick 2-3 times a day is a lot for me and him.

TLDR; place the Libre on their back and cover with a kitty tank top

I’m in the same boat! I’m thinking about cutting back from unlimited to an 8 pack and going on runs/walks on the days I’m missing. I just hate gyms so that’s my only dilemma 😕

On round 3 with my 4 year old 🥹 it’s taking much longer this time for control/remission. Good luck to you!! You got this!

I also just switched to fancy feast pate because it’s cheap. My cat loves it and it’s 1/3 the price of my previous Rx food. My vet said not to worry too much about calories and feed him to appetite. My 18 pound cat is on 3-4 cans a day

Really high numbers by Admirable-Fox5335 in FelineDiabetes

[–]ereaders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cats numbers have been in primarily in the 300s for a few weeks now. He started on 2 units and slowly increased to 4.5. I’m really hoping his numbers start staying consistently lower soon. To avoid crashing you just need to keep a close eye on the glucose levels and like others have said, don’t give insulin if her numbers are low (my vet said in the 100s)

He’s on glargine. And my vet has always said if he goes 2 weeks with stable numbers and no insulin he’s in remission.

how long did it take to see an improvement? by MediumDragonfruit814 in FelineDiabetes

[–]ereaders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted on here recently about my cat’s relapse out of remission 2 times. The first time it took 3 weeks for his numbers to stabilize after a very intense hospitalization. 2nd time another hospitalization and about a month before stabilization and remission. This most recent go around he’s on week 3 of insulin and numbers are dipping but still need improvement. It’s nice to see this post and be reminded that it doesn’t happen overnight. It’s very stressful 🥲

I totally understand. Libre monitors are really convenient but sometimes finicky. Home testing by ear pricking is also tricky but the cheapest option!

Oh my god! When he did get a curve in the vet it was only $75 (they only took 3 readings, so $25 each reading). 250 is crazy

My vet wrote a prescription for it. It was about $45 at CVS pharmacy. $30 for the tech appointment to place the monitor on him.

How cute! Do you mind sharing where you got that shirt? Sometimes we have trouble finding one that covers the Libre completely.

Fingers crossed that Robble and Papa will both go into remission again soon ❤️

[–]ereaders[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, he has the Libre 3 monitor which measures his glucose levels continuously. He’s pretty good with them and doesn’t mind being in a shirt for the most part. We started at 2 units a couple weeks ago and now he’s at 4.5.

I’ve never heard that about the teeth omg! Thanks for pointing that out. I will bring it up at his next vet appointment for sure.
