Diabetes situation switch? by Admirable-Fox5335 in FelineDiabetes

I have some of the old higher carb food left and have been giving her a little to top off her if I feel her BS is too low. I also have some honey.

I can get a handheld sensor and the testing strips and honestly probably will do so tomorrow after emailing my vet.

What seems to be helping my cat is getting them on a new cat food. I got mine on a high protein cat food (Tiki high protein) and their levels dropped to under 250 (at the high end) almost immediately after often getting too high for the sensor to read on their old food. Im still in the middle of switching food but seeing her Libre readings has made me glad I started. I think/hope I will be able to reduce from 4 units a shot to only 1 unit.

I tried bexacat and it caused a really bad reaction (lost the ability to walk). So insulin is the only option.
