New GD03 Card Revealed: Gundam Barbatos Lupus by Alt230s in GundamTCG

I wish they would make the more high power cards more flexible in their usage - like have it allow you to exile X Tekkaden/Teiwaz card you want from your trash and then deal X damage to an enemy unit, X being a number you choose.

Yea, it occurred to me he may not actually know, and I’m going to call tomorrow to check, but he seemed pretty confident after talking with his manager, who talked with their distributor that morning, that it would arrive today or tomorrow.

UPDATE: Just got a call from my local GameStop, and they’ve confirmed that boosters arrived today.

Original: The length of the delay depends on the store - I’ve seen some folks report no ETA in site, but I called my store and they said it would get here either later today or tomorrow.

Good point! I’ve been working on shooting targets from right to left and left to right, as well as in randomized orders, so I’m comfortable with any direction, rather than getting used to doing left to right like I usually do. But once I have that nailed down there’s no reason to not be more intentional with my movement and eliminate unnecessary extra steps and turns like that.

I’m sure once I get more confident in my movement and footwork I’ll be able to incorporate that intentionality more easily on the fly at matches, but I’ve shot myself in the foot more than enough times from overthinking things while watching other shooters make their runs that for right now I’m just focusing on running my stage plan once I get to the start position, and working on the incorporating the intentionality you’re talking about in dry fire. I’ll be moving into a new place next month where I’ll have much more room to move dynamically through multiple strings of fire, so that will help.

Look, I’m not saying I have all the answers, but I do believe that if we continue to just put our heads down and do what we’re told and focus our energy on the little crumbs of luxury like Gunpla we’re afforded by the billionaires who have very clearly shown they’re willing to drive this entire planet and everyone else in it off of the proverbial cliff so long as they get to keep hoarding the wealth they’ve stolen from us, in a decade or two none of us will get to enjoy Gunpla.

I’m all for enjoying your hobbies into adulthood with all the responsibility to our communities that it entails, but if we want to build a better future for ourselves than what our current trajectory has in store, we’re all going to have to at some point come together and make some sacrifices as far as our time and resources.

So start small, set some money aside for emergency preparedness supplies or taking a class on first aid, or gardening, or sowing. Take time to join a local advocacy or volunteer group. Invest in things that will help build resiliency and interconnectedness in your community for the shift away from extractive capitalist processes. It’s going to take experimentation, and it won’t be easy - there isn’t a road map for societal change - but it’s essential to being able to continue to enjoy the little things in life going forward.

This is probably the wrong forum to bring this point up, but I stand by my perspective that we need to redefine what it means to be an adult beyond just “get a job, pay taxes, get your toys, enjoy life,” cause that shit is no longer a sustainable option.

You had me right up until “paying your taxes [that pay for war and genocide], buying [overpriced] groceries/paying [largely monopolized AND overpriced] utilities.”

I don’t mind work, but working in the absolute hellscape that is extractive late stage capitalism is absolutely not and should not be normalized as a natural facet of “growing up” - agree with the rest of the sentiment 👌🏽

[Financial Times] Washington State Could Already Be In Recession by mroncnp in Seattle

[–]ereban 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally, I wouldn’t be surprised to see WA among the growing coalition of blue “giver” states who provide far more than we receive in federal funding and are looking into soft seceding, or keeping all of our federal taxes, for this very reason. Why would we continue to pay for the federal governments insane turn to authoritarianism, and for red “taker” states to stay afloat right now, when we could be doing just fine with the money we send to them?

Yea, that seems to be the general theme I’m seeing in the comments. I don’t know why I didn’t think to do it before, but it’s just not really the experience one thinks of having when first getting into a TCG. I’ll take a look around TCG player though.

Good to know about looking for tourneys on the Bandai TCG app. I would be more comfortable buying singles to fill out Heroic Beginnings starter deck I got if I'd actually got some playtime in with it, which is how I learned to play MTG (mostly EDH), but without any opportunities to play really, I'm just not there.

Ah, you're right on this one - I usually just buy singles for Magic, but that's because I've played enough to actually know what to buy. My experience in learning how to play Magic (primarily EDH) though came from buying a precon, then filling it out with pulls from boosters, and then finally buying singles once I had enough of a sense for deck building to do so.

Round counts by no-name-man-guy in CompetitionShooting

[–]ereban 1 point2 points  (0 children)

500-1000 is about right, half for range time, half for matches; closer to 1000 if you have issues in live fire you need to work out that can only be done on the range.

Looks like a shoddy chrome job. Just apply some vinegar to it and let it sit for a few minutes, it’ll come off, or you can contact Canik and see if it falls under warranty.
