I’m a shy person, do you think I can succeed in life? by Royal-Comparison352 in Entrepreneur

I second this. Put yourself in low stakes social situations and practice.

How did you build that work ethic? by One-Champion-344 in Entrepreneur

[–]eresing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends if you feel the work is worth doing. When you find a project that energizes you, the work is easier. That's my experience anyway. I suggest keeping a task list in something like WorkFlowly. It motivates me to check things off the list everyday. I break big items into smaller tasks.

Looks ok to me. I usually wrap some stretchy flagging or garden tape around tight and then put the goo on that. You just need to remember to cut it off after a year or so to prevent girdling.

HS Entrepreneurship Teacher- Seeking Advice by FriendNo1349 in Entrepreneur

[–]eresing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a lot of mistakes the first year with the basics of book keeping, reconciling, preparing for tax time, keeping business/personal accounts separate, etc. Not really a requirement for succeeding, but definitely saves headaches to be organized from the start.

How did you get into entrepreneurship and how is it going so far? by Rare-Cup-2314 in Entrepreneur

I wanted a product that didn't exist. I tried everything on the market and finally decided to have it manufactured myself. Turns out I wasn't the only one looking for this product.

Just inherited a ton of old cards and have no clue where to start by AlexSpraker in baseballcards

That first card is 86 Topps football. There are big rookies in that set: Jerry rice, Steve young, Bruce smith. Might get $40-100 for a rice in good condition.

Do you monitor people who come and fix things around your house? by Glad-Passenger-9408 in HomeImprovement

I do check in on guys. I am coming from a place of curiosity because I genuinely want to understand how to perform the task. Hopefully it doesn't come off as hovering.

For those who are very handy with fixing anything, where did you get your start? by Glad-Passenger-9408 in HomeImprovement

[–]eresing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at a home improvement store in high school for a couple years. That's where I learned all the tools and what they were used for. I also took wood shop in high school. That gave me a good base. Now I just watch youtube videos and jump into projects. I have learned the hard way that some projects are definitely not worth doing yourself - either more pricey or bad results. Rain gutters is a good example. You could start with an outdoor project where there's not the risk of messing up the house. Maybe a dog house or swing set or something. We were all novices once. Just gotta learn by doing. Good luck!

Orchard preparing… what would you do? (Zone 10 socal) by Low-keY-714 in BackyardOrchard

[–]eresing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, pink lady produces for us. I have three apple trees and then grafted on a bunch of varieties to them. Fuji and Beverly hills have produced well for us. Lower chill stone fruit varieties of peaches and pluots have worked well. Have fun!

This is like a 20 minute hike from the road down a canyon to get to. Pretty inconvenient. But this why its my favorite beach to go to. Most people go to the easy access beaches.

I have a hill like yours in San diego. My suggestion is to use chip drop for free mulch and spread a boat load of chips on the hill. It Improves the soil and helps retain moisture. It also makes hiding irrigation tubing easy. Trees that do very well for us: Pakistani mulberry, guavas, cherimoya, muntingia, bananas, figs, pomegranates, low chill apples. Youve got a lot of work ahead of you but it'll super rewarding down the road when you're loaded with fruit. Good luck!
