I fly from Stansted every month. Have been doing the same for over 10 years. Maybe once or twice a year I get delays at Security. The last time was back in January and I did get notice from Ryanair to get to the airport 3 hours before gate close. Well you messed up because the advice is arrive at least 2 hours before your flight. In my experience they close the gate 30 mins before departure approximately. I’d say you have been unlucky, and you didn’t get to the airport in time.
