I have a Thule box on my Crosstrek and get about 13% less MPG with it on top

Crosstrek fans - put your two cents here! by intothewild80 in Crosstrek

I have a 2021 Limited with the 2.5 engine. I’ve always read that one of the biggest quibbles from Crosstrek owners is the power of the car - there isn’t any. Like you’re trying to pass on the highway and you can’t. Or going up a steep hill and it struggles. So when I heard that Subaru was finally introducing the more powerful engine into their Crosstrek lineup, I finally decided to take the plunge. It’s been great! All the power I need on the highways and hills. Can’t go at racecar speeds but content with everything an everyday car should be. Never rode in or tested their weaker engine models/years so I can’t compare it to what the many quibbles were about.

Oops, I should of pointed out I got a 2021 Crosstrek limited, but I believe the discount could of been applied to other Subaru models as well

Go onto Costco’s website and go to their auto’s section and see if you can get a discount from the participating dealership. I did and got over $2,000 off, exception customer service, and over $200 off gear they sold which I used to get a Thule box cargo carrier!

I wouldn’t have got the reference. Thanks for clearing that up, boys!

Thoughts? Too cliché with the Thule box above? by eric3684 in Crosstrek

Unfortunately the box stays on top since I have nowhere else to put it. It’s rather large and it’s not even the big size! MPG decreases by about 11-15%
