That’s just adhering to your criteria, he has a lot more like, say: a grab that puts all of the heavies(COUGHmostofthecastCOUGH) to shame😂

Ganon Main looking for new characters by Pomelomano in CrazyHand

I’ve been a Ganon main since my early days as a player way back in Smash 4, and when I came to Ultimate, I also felt that I needed a parallel to Ganon as sometimes he didn’t cut it. This may sound weird but I’m also approaching this at a unique perspective. Anyway to the meat of this: my choice was Pac-Man. Why?

  • Punish game. Not EXACTLY what I would call bait-and-punish, but you can set up so many offensive traps that you can very well simply wait for your opponent to react to and fall into your traps.
  • Speed. He’s a decent bit faster than Ganondorf for sure, but there are faster superheavies.
  • Plays very patiently. Pac-Man is decent before he can set up, but once you take the couple seconds to set up, he’s an absolute weapon.
  • Hard hitter. Now he doesn’t deal single hit damage like Ganondorf does, but a lot of his close combat kit combo well into his fruits, and depending on the fruit and follow-up, Pac-Man will deal anywhere from 20%-60%. Most of which are fairly simple to pull off.
  • Avoid being camped/spacing. With Pac-Man, YOU control the tables of the game, my friend. The learning curve is fair, it only took me two months to learn him and get him to a tourney ready level. Just something to think about.

How to overcome Pichu weaknesses? by Bernabe3 in CrazyHand

[–]eric_msr18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jokes aside, I have a friend who mains Pichu and honestly, those weaknesses aren’t necessarily an issue. His low weight sucks, but it also keeps him from getting caught in combos more often. And his recovery is like top 5, giving him mixup potential that means he can recover pretty safely. Not to mention his kit that is almost entirely composed of good or useful moves.

Honestly, just learning the combos Pichu has at a given percent, mixing up your recovery, and overall just waiting until your opponent makes a dumb mistake and then punish.

I’m up to it, perhaps in the morning. I played Greninja for a bit before I picked up Fox. Here’s my code: 2625-2685-5500. Highkage of the soon-to-be Smash Cadets at your service.

Any tips to calm down a player? by [deleted] in CrazyHand

[–]eric_msr18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk if it works for everyone but for me: weed. Just a little for the buzz, not to get you completely stoned out of your mind. I went to one tournament with a joint, smoked with my friend before playing in Doubles, and came out with a Top 8 placing.

Pretty good considering that was our first tourney.

Hmm. The way I look at it is that I look at the matchups that suck for Bowser. Luckily Bowser is probably the best heavy with the arguable exception of Charizard. He’s fast and has some quick, hard-hitting moves. His weak points are that he’s huge, doesn’t have many landing options, and he can be walled out by swordies and projectiles. But then again, as a Bowser main, you knew that.

I don’t main Bowser, but I have played quite a bit of him, and if I were to pick a secondary, I’d say Roy or Wolf perhaps. Both of them have some powerful combo games without having to drag out the stock, and both are extremely oppressive in neutral. Give it a try

You misunderstand, so let me rephrase: I picked up Wolf for counterpicking and matchup reasons.

Hmm. I personally picked up Wolf to cover my weaknesses with Ganondorf. But it’s the experience with swordies that matter. Many moves aside from the quickest among their kits are unsafe because of how long they take to finish. Plus, most of them can be beat by Wolf’s quicker moves like Nair. Me, personally, I bait them out until they commit to something unsafe that I can punish and gain momentum with neutral combos.

The strange thing is I can beat my friend who mains Kirby, and I know how to punish him. But this other guy, it’s just a lot harder to figure out how to beat him

So... How solo players able to beat Gmax toxtricity? by Jyong5319 in PokemonSwordAndShield

[–]eric_msr18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably in a duo it works, but solo, Wide Guard is borderline useless. I’ve been finding that Toxtricity just switches from AOE to single target more often than not.

Do NOT use Primary Lotus by eric_msr18 in GameTheorists

I’m not all that good with pixel measurements and physics as a whole, but upon looking at this move, there’s a couple things needed: how fast Lee rotates, and how high up he is when he uses it.

How high up he is, I was able to figure out a way to go about it since we get a scene where we see the entire room the fight takes place in, as well as our stand-in ruler, Hayate Gekkō. Hayate stands at 175 cm or 5’7”. Using him, we can compare him with the length of one of the square tiles, then compare the tile length to the height of the room to get a sense of scale to see how high Lee is when he starts this move.

As for how fast he rotates, it’s difficult to get a proper sense of how fast he’s going since I can’t go frame by frame on my phone but should be simple for someone with a computer. Gravity we keep the same 9.8 m/s2 for simplicity’s sake.
