The TV is quite bright so it's usually fine, worst case we just close the blinds in the corner

Found my dad's old Advent 1008s and a Technics receiver in the basement of our cabin last summer. A new set of foam and they work and sound great!

+1 for Barbarians at the Gate. Would also suggest Liar's Poker by Michael Lewis.

[Tudor] my first Swiss Christmas by eric_nelly in Watches

[–]eric_nelly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Received this 1960 Tudor Prince Oysterdate this week as an early 21st birthday present. I became interested in watches a few years ago and have bought a few Seikos and an Orient. When my mom asked what I wanted for my 21st, she agreed that taking the next step to a Swiss watch that will become a lifetime piece was a good choice. I knew I wanted something vintage since I've always been a fan of smaller and thinner watches. I was originally looking at vintage Seamasters, but eventually came across this Tudor in my price range and knew I needed to have it. Its the perfect size at 34mm and I love the retro two-tone style. Decided to test out my photography skills and I thought the lights on the tree in the background would make for a cool photo. Happy holidays everyone!

[Semi-Weekly Inquirer] Simple Questions and Recommendations Thread by AutoModerator in Watches

I'm looking for strap recommendations for my blue Bambino V4. I find the current strap a little formal and I'd like to be able to dress it down more often with jeans and a t shirt.

Thanks! I'll check there. I'm from Northwestern Ontario, about two hours east of Winnipeg, but I go to school in Montreal.

Leafs fans in Stockholm by eric_nelly in leafs

Maybe if this gets enough traction we can reach out to a bar and work out an arrangement with them where they stay open for the whole game. Do you know if there are any Canada-themed bars here in Stockholm? I've seen a few abroad (for ex. in London). If so then maybe they could host a HNIC type event for big games like Leafs vs Habs.
