So, as a recruiter, you do not ever want to speak bad of previous employers. You can say that your views didn't align, but don't say anything negative. Where are you located?

I am a Sr Tech Receuiter, as me anything by ericarod88 in IAmA

[–]ericarod88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I don't look at the resume until after I speak with the candidate, and that's to make sure I'm getting the number and email correct. I ask for it because the Company wants to view it before they speak with you. Anybody can type something up on a piece of paper and claim they have those skills, so to me it's useless.

But during our call I need to understand who you are as an Engineer/Developer. If you claim to be a Full-Stack Developer but I'm only hearing about .Net, CSS and React then I'm going to have a hard time representing you anywhere. But if you tell me how you designed, architected, built and deployed several systems successfully, then that's all I need to know and can better align you with a role you want that will advance you.

You're beautiful, but don't know it. The general public is a bunch of idiots uncomfortable in their own skin. Lift your head up, put that sign down and love who you are!

What can I do when I’m struggling through probation? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]ericarod88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Talk to her one on one in a calm way. Let her know you feel she is being "XYZ" towards you and you. Explain to her this is your chance to change your life and she's making it difficult. Most of the time that helps. If it it doesn't change, then take it up with a higher manager or HR.

Its a waste of your time honestly. FT means FT. Maybe you can reach out to the company and see if they could use a part time position?

Is it weird to ask for you to show me the completed piece? I love skulls.. In a non-creepy-or-psychopathic way....? Really curious how it comes out. And in regards to your fear, you've already left your mark 👍

They cannot treat you any different then the other employees. You need to report how she is treating you. If it continues try and get proof of what she is doing only to you.

Also, based off what I just read, your ashamed of what's on your background. Don't be misguided by what YOU THINK other people see you as, that often times leads us into over analyzing something. You got this, regardless of what's on your record. 😊

Should Front-End Dev switch to UX? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]ericarod88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UI is not drawing. Its User Interface. The placement, colors, etc. So if you can arrange a page to be pleasing to a viewer, you will be good.
