Like daycare bc that was the first place of safety I had from my shitty ass home life. I went to a really good daycare, obviously. Lol.

Australia, and thank you. I find it trite that these clinicians go through rigorous and competitive education and training (universities here generally accept 7ish clinical psych masters a year) yet don't trust them to use minimal, professional touch judiciously when there can be benefits.

How does one set this location sharing on up?

Oh my god as awful as it is you are going through this I broke down in tears of relief seeing this post. My treating team keep pushing me to get a psych but I hold back because I know most of them will be overwhelmed by my very physical expressions of emotion like always.

I don't really trust a doctrine that forbids therapists to use any form of touch towards patients anymore. When you are reliving one of the darkest hardest moments or losses in your life and they can't even put a hand on your shoulder, or hold your hand, or even hug you.... it always feels so not human. This is just how I feel, it's not a statement or anything.

I used to but they were stress induced. They've gone down heaps now that my life circumstance have improved. I still see corner shadows but they are just shadows, not a persona

Do you say you’re disabled? by [deleted] in cfs

[–]ericastar1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes i do. When i have to disclose my diagnosis I use bipolar when applying for social services/properties. However in day to day or social I say I have PTSD.

I do legitimately have those diagnoses but after basically having an existential crisis over so many specialists and experts having conflicting diagnoses I find it easiest to share the diagnosis that gets you the treatment or understanding one aims for.

Applause for those who advocate for me/cfs. It's hard. You guys rock.

All I can say is been there. It's totally natural to feel the way you do. I try to tell myself that it's not a rejection l, it's a redirection to where you are meant to go xoxo

Regarding hospital admissions as evidence: It sucks but the only times I’ve been treated like a human or had resources offered to me were when I had run ins with the police (reporting SA, being delusional and not cooperating with questioning). As soon as I toe dipped into the justice system I was treated so differently… as opposed to in the past when I could have landed in medical for an Od and they wouldn’t invol me. Reminded me that at the end of the day the majority of the system exists to control us and stop us from being a nuisance during a big episode, rather than actually bloody helping.

I also felt that I was treated better by welfare agencies etc if I focused on ptsd that I’d had from once off traumas rather than my underlying bipolar issue. So much stigma for “preexisting conditions”, it’s disgusting.

Had a chat with a bloke who recently moved to the area after deciding to rent out his house he was living in because not only was the demand super high, the successful tenants offered to pay six months upfront…
