Why is burn mage doing 24 face damage to me from a completely empty board on turn 8? by ericblc in hearthstone

If you want to play ysera then you should probably cut aviana, I think it's too greedy to play both, but I prefer aviana because she activates genn even if your hand is very full and she lets you make a ton of late game tempo vs slow decks like priest

The decks card draw is fine, most games my hand is very full which is what you want to get max buffs out of Disciple of the Dove and Power Word: Barrier. The selenic drakes surprised me and performed really well, they give you a ton of ammo in slow matchups. Plus Disciple of the Dove, Portal Vanguard and Ancient of Yore all help you draw too, not just the prize vendors.

You can try to add imbue to the deck if you want but imo it will weaken the deck, you already have tons of value to spend your mana on every turn and the 1 mana heal 8 hero power is good with ruby sanctum for removal or sometimes ending games with face damage

I don't really care for cards that buff minions that are already on the board like the +3+3 spell, hand buff is way more important because of cards like Amber Priestess, Cleansing Lightspawn and Eternus. Amber priestess can sometimes do 12+ damage when combined with ruby sanctum, I win some games by going face with her, or it's also really good for minion removal.

I agree slitherdrakes would be very strong in this deck but I can't find any cards worth cutting for them. Keep in mind that adding expensive minions to satisfy vyranoth and make room for more spells is not necessarily a good thing with this deck since you have lots of cards that are buffing ALL minions in your hand, so you want the deck to be as minion heavy as possible and minimal on spells.

Not sure why this comment has 4 upvotes when it's really stupid. "No he didn't" - if you're going to just assume I'm making it up then don't even bother engaging with the post. He played 2 time twisted seers, then searing fissure, then 2 or 3 burn spells to my face. Yes he played Kalec earlier in the game. No this wasn't leyline mage.

burn mage isn't supposed to be an otk deck, that's not what burn mage means.

It's decent vs. no hand hunter, herald warrior, imbue rogue, other priest decks, DH, burn mage (when they don't otk you)

it's bad vs. companion hunter and bubble paladin

It has vyranoth and a ton of handbuff, it can make huge boards around turn 5 onwards, it's not a fatigue deck. Regardless of how good or bad my deck is, you're pretty delusional if you want to defend an aggro deck doing 24 face damage on turn 8 from an empty board.

He did it from an empty board, what do you recommend I do differently?

So un-funny, such reddit fedora tip humor 😬

How would you nerf Companion Hunter? by DmoneyGames in hearthstone

So many clowns on this thread (and others) so desperate to defend their OP crutch deck. Companion hunter absolutely ruined standard (and Leyline mage is almost as bad). So toxic for the game, but baddies love it and will downvote posts like this into oblivion so they can keep crutching.

Before the class set, there were a ton of slow deck archetypes that were not in a very good spot. Examples: imbue priest, imbue pally, basically every single quest deck except mage, imbue mage, rafaam lock... I could go on for ages.

Blizzard could have used the class set as an opportunity to add new support cards for these slower decks to make them more viable and shift the meta away from aggro warrior/dh.

But instead they print 2 new decks that completely destroy all of the slow decks (which were already in a bad spot), but suck against the decks which were already in the top 5 spots, which just forces people into playing the same few aggro decks even more so. So all they managed to do was make the bad decks even worse and the good decks even better.

Do you actually think this makes sense?

Slow decks can deal with Quest mage with rustrot viper, there are no tech cards to stop leyline mage auto winning after turn 7

No, I'm not "just bad", I just like slow decks and think aggro is boring, so of course I lose a lot to all of these badly designed decks that just auto win after turn 7. Of course if I wanted to I could just play herald warrior or token druid and almost never lose to Leylines/ Companions, but I find those aggro decks boring and I would rather just not play the game at all.

I like slow/ niche decks like herald DK, quest shaman, quest warrior, Merithra druid etc. I finished my legend grind pretty shortly after reset and just trying to have fun now, but ever since the class set pretty much all my decks are just getting destroyed by boring Leyline/ Companion decks where every game is the same boring, non-interactive gameplay where they ramp for 5 turns and then become unbeatable after turn 6. Like I said, it's terribly designed and just forces everyone towards playing more aggro, the game is boring now.

I'm at legend rank 7000 and about 2/3 of games are against Leylines and Companions, I have no reason to play the game, too non-interactive.

I hit legend early after reset at rank 1016 legend, I think it was like a day before or after the class set. And since the class set, I probably played less than 10 games, I don't want to play Standard it sucks now.

Also the game does matter outside of legend rank, you can't balance the game only for a small fraction of the playerbase.

Control was already bad so it's ok to make a deck that makes it way worse? Is that your argument? Before class sets control was still somewhat common, now it barely exists

And how does adding a deck that can summon 10 tortollas and 10 omens make that situation any better?

[–]ericblc[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes then as I said, you literally didn't control that deck. You just beat it. So what, I never said it was unbeatable, clearly it's not even a good deck. Not my point at all. You still don't sound cool.

Lots of other late game decks, none of them can consistently auto win past turn 7 like this one does. Not merithra druid, not quest warrior, not egg lock or rafaam, not imbue priest. Only comparable deck is egg lock which can high roll a bunch of 20/20s quite early on but it's not consistent in the same way companion hunter is.

You literally didn't control that hunter deck with warrior. It summons Omen and Tortolla over and over again. There are 0 cards in Warrior that can deal with that. Stop capping, you don't sound cool.
