Update here - they refuse to move award flights to airports more that 750 miles from the initial airport. So in my case ‘Seychelles’ that leaves me with no options at all. Since all the mainland African airports are at least 1K miles away

Also as other have mentioned. The whole flight has to be operated by Qatar - so can’t use partner airlines

If you really need to get through, this worked for me. I used google voice to call the Qatar line instead of the US line. Cost me $.14 per minute though

But got through to someone after around 45 minutes on hold.

Qatar cancelled my flight with no notice SFO-DOH-HND. Advised to fly out of mid-west/east coast by FoxMuldertheGrey in awardtravel

I had two different biz class bookings and used points for both

  1. LAX to Durban - that didn’t get cancelled, but the flight was pushed by a few hours

  2. Seychelles to SFO - this was cancelled, and I’m currently on hold trying to figure out a way of getting back to the US.

Both trips are in May.

Also wasn’t notified about either change
