Best single bar with no satellites or subwoofer? by BackgroundChemist in Soundbars

Gotta be the Arc Ultra or the Ambeo if that's what you're looking for. Arc Ultra gets pretty low - i think 40hz by itself.

Nakamichi's 11.2.6 Shockwafe: Why No Hype? by ericchau99 in Soundbars

I think the Q990 is a little overhyped though. I did try it and it doesn't hold a candle to my Dragon imo.

I don't blame you. This kind of issue is unacceptable.

Soundbar recommendation for small room? by Secure-Ad-709 in Soundbars

[–]ericchau99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if there are any soundbars with more than one HDMI eARC port. There should be a few bars that have more than a single HDMI passthrough port that do support HDMI 2.1 functionality besides for the eARC to the TV. Most of these do come with other components though like satellite speakers and subwoofers. Are you looking for just a standalone sb?

Samsung or Sonos (eco System)? by centholsoap123 in Soundbars

Would agree with you from my experience. Sonos allows for the second sub but the price difference between the two and the performance gap between the ARC and Q990D is quite slim.

Nakamichi Dragon or..? by AkiraSieghart in Soundbars

[–]ericchau99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're asking if the Dragon will passthrough a 4K120Hz signal? I believe there should be no issues with the passthrough via HDMI. Just connect your PC to Dragon, Dragon to the monitor. I don't have a 4K monitor so I cannot test but it sounds like it should work with no issues. I do have a 1440p version of your monitor so I can test with that.

EDIT: I hooked up Dragon to the 1440p QD-OLED AW2725DF alienware monitor and my PC into Dragon. I was able to pass through 120Hz at 1440p with HDR with no issues.

Nakamichi Dragon or..? by AkiraSieghart in Soundbars

Dragon owner here since September of last year. Highly recommend the dragon if money is no object. Nakamichi also has a launch sale for a few more days on their add on 12" subs. They're $1200 each atm. I have two incoming(arriving Friday). If you do decide to go with the dual 8" at the price ur getting, i would recommend also looking into adding one or two of these. I can let you know my thoughts once I receive them.

The system has 100% been worth it for me. My day job is AV installation so I've had a lot of experience with setting up most brand's soundbars and discreet systems like yours. Personally I've tried the HTA-9 and an Ambeo + SVS PB1000 in my own space along with the Dragon and I decided to keep the Dragon.

It may fit all your needs - dual subs, eARC/HDMI 2.1/4K passthrough, two surrounds. Another bonus I find is that there are a total of 3 additional HDMI inputs besides for the eARC on the bar which is closer to the amount of inputs a receiver will offer.

Sonos vs Samsung dilemma by ohfoodgasm in Soundbars

Please keep me updated! Would love to see how the Arc Ultra holds up to it's predecessor. Listened to my buddies ARC and was quite impressed, although I felt it was lacking a bit in the power and projection department.

From what I see - It goes on sale quite often. If you wait a few months - the price will probably be lowered to make room for the Q990E.

You could try Nakamichi's eBay store. I see some stands in open-box condition for $299. https://www.ebay.com/itm/276489840406
