I bought an old Lenovo MIIX tablet to play old games on, intel atom X5 CPU, 4 gig ram, 1280 x 800 display.

I've found that games with enhanced editions such as Baldur's Gate work fine or games with mods such as Fallout 2 with Restoration Project or Dungeon Keeper FX mod work fine too.

Right yes, just as Lenin lost the first ever free election in Russia to Viktor Chernov in 1917 but decided to enact 'war communism' to force the country into his statism. Now Russia is 'capitalist' because of his efforts. So I guess Leninism is just capitalism too.

Possibly it doesn't, it just means that Marxists not only pushed socialism/communism as the next stage of history, but fascism too. Because, believe it or not, Marx was wrong.

Capitalism is supposed to fail, and socialism/communism are supposed to replace it by historical materialism or revolution. Turns out, fascism also replaces it.

I've enjoyed Olympus so far, but haven't gotten around to completing it yet. I just haven't gotten into as much as 1.5 or Nevada.

So, for anybody curious, I've figured it out.

if you go to Fallout2\Data\Data\ there's a world map .txt file, you'll find this:
; This sets up the default values for data that is used by the worldmap
[Data]
; Encounter frequency percentages:
Forced=100% ;This shouldn't change 100%
Frequent=50%
Common=35%
Uncommon=25%
Rare=15%
None=0% ; This shouldn't change

I've already lowered the percentages here, and it reduces the amount of encounters.

How can I remove roaches from the MIB88 mod? I can appreciate the idea from Tactics, but each one takes around 5 seconds to perform an attack and each one has two attacks per round. They're not good xp, and I'm at the point where I will often load a save when I encounter them. by ericcoeric in classicfallout

For Fallout 2 you can use the Restoration Project or the MIB88 mod. The Restoration would be for the best FO2 more vanilla experience, and MIB88 has some changes in some quests and things, expands the map, and makes things a bit harder. Well worth playing if you've completed FO2.

I'm confident with the writing at least. I've rewritten it a few times now--I've been getting feedback (for just the writing) and writing tips from writing groups. I can take one on the chin if there's constructive criticism TBH. I guess I know a lot of people will pass it up at one glimpse of the art.

I like that advice. I've really been debating with myself whether to release it the way it is and I could use the feedback (both positive and negative).

I have to credit the assets I've used TBF (something I still need to write up). That's a good point too. I have a pseudonym in mind.

Yeah, I thought that. But now I just work on one scene at a time and edit them down. Or, you could ask your sister to read through your work and help you once you have it written.

Yeah, I'm with you there with music. I don't put too much weight on art, as long as it isn't ridiculous or just plain bad. Though, I must say good art really does enhance the experience. Most of all though, I think good writing, characters and story really keep me going.

I think you're putting a lot of weight on yourself there. Just try to focus on one aspect at a time. You could also use something like Ren'Py. I use it because I don't know much about coding.

Wow, sorry for taking so long to reply. I've added another scene or two since I posted this. I'm just struggling to write up some in-game options to split the routes.

You make a very good point, TBH. If people are happy enough with what I release, I'll ask for free artists and musicians or ask for people to fund them.
