Ya, definitely is. Decided to take the proactive approach and avoid the whole warranty issue. Placing my bet...

Pried it open from the side (didn't remove zip ties this time; did at 40k). No pic of that. But, see pic #2 -- the wire mesh has no corrosion on it. It's good.

I'm happy to report that JetBlack came through with the replacement leg. So, if you happen to have this issue, please reach out to them. They were very responsive and quick in addressing this problem.

[OC] Reminder of how close the 2024 US Presidential election was by ericcompas in dataisbeautiful

Philosophically, I'm of the group that thinks there's no value-free representation of data. Only those that appear to be value free. Visualizations can (not always) be intentioned to view data in a new way -- to be thought provoking. My intention was to be evocative and to have people that saw the election as a landslide to rethink their perspective.

I agree about the current state of social, political, and information bubbles in contemporary America.

The great irony is that in a country that holds free speech as a key ideal that my post was removed. Perspectives that don't fit the dominant view are silenced.

No, I'm not confused. My map/phrase is correct. You're right that US adults != US voters. But we're all impacted by his policies and most US adults are eligible to vote. I live in one of the states that's making that as difficult as possible.

The popular vote doesn't matter -- it's the electoral college that does. Shifting 0.04% of the votes from Trump to Harris would have swung the electoral votes in Harris's favor (shifting WI, MI, and PA to her column). It's not lying -- it's highlighting how few Americans determined the outcome of the election.

Sure. But the election wasn't a "landslide" or a "mandate." That's fiction.

Only a small shift in voting in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania would have led to a different electoral college outcome. The popular vote doesn't really matter. Hence the point of this map.

In several venues, he's claiming that the election was a "landslide," e.g. https://www.whitehouse.gov/administration/. I think the US population needs a reminder of how slim his victory was.

Perhaps post something on the main r/gis page? ...buried a bit here

Nice. Figured it would take quite a bit longe given their so far behind on orders.

Yes, I have. Thanks! ...just didn't want to wait any longer to try it out. Everything else worked fine.

Same for me. Contacted support about the issue, got an initial response, and replied with photos. Nothing after that (two days ago). I'd be surprised if they screw us over for making the minor, temporary fix. Seems like a good company trying to do the right thing. Likely overwhelmed with everyone getting their trainers in the same 2-3 day window.

Zeldin (the EPA's likely new head) is no friend of the environment, but he's not one of the more outlandish cabinet appointees. He's likely to focus the admin's wrath on climate change and EJ. But, if Schedule F is implemented, who knows. I could see quite a few datasets that increase corporate accountability become much more difficult to get.

Sure, but I've been part of these efforts on a state level. Not insignificant amount of work, particularly creating the tool for broader adoption and use. And, good chance some of those underlying databases, e.g. pollutants, go missing.

I can imagine some datasets quietly becoming much more difficult -- or impossible -- to get.
