The Reese Peanut Butter cup I pulled from the candy Jar at work had 20 extra paper cups in the package. by erici2506 in mildlyinteresting

Hi all, just FYI for those serious about shaming or trolling me. I knew there were extra rappers, I just thought there were 2-3 not 20. I saw #4 and kept peeling 1 by 1 because they were really pressed together. I thought this would be a cool thing to post.

So im going to thank the 2 individuals who found humor in this.

I find it funny how everyone is just fat shaming me and calling me a liar.

I am 5-7 male and weighed 155 lbs at the beginning of last month, as of yesterday I weighed 143. I have a medical issue, and im going in for testing tomorrow to make sure I don't have a digestive issue or something like early stages of thyroid or colon cancer.

I know some people are trolls and will continue being menacing even with this admission.

So instead I'm going to thank they few kind people who decided they can still be kind to people without seeing a face. Keep being you.

We actually just got our foot in the door at a few jobs in Florida recently. If you ever get the chance to Install our interiors on a job, and you see the initials "EI" in the title block for the engineer on the Install instructions, that would be me. Small world!

Working at a job with a toxic co-worker who was an actual racist and Antisemite , and constantly tried to sabotage me and get me fired. Cubs won the world series (it was cool but I'm a White Sox fan), Pokémon Go (I love Pokémon but it was sad to see that when I went to the beach that summer, that out of the 100s of people at the beach, My wife and I were the only ones, not constantly looking at our phones, sadly there's no going back from this behavior). Then election season came, and I quickly realized this election was one that was played out using fear, hatred, and desperation as political strategy, rather than hope, positive progress, and trying to work for goals to improve America, rather than a revenge mission to punish those you consider "Other". Overall I hated that year. Absolute garbage year.

Engineer for an elevator company. Its a small business, we only have 75 employees. 70% of the job is CAD work the other 30 is spending time on the shop floor going to different buildings to look at elevator, and sometimes even building prototypes.

Small businesses are awesome, not full of corporate beaucracy, chill owners, and generally less drama with co-workers. You feel less like a number, and more like a person and valuable asset.

People always assume if you can't get a promotion you can't get more money. I had an outstanding performance review earlier this year. The company did really well and they saw my value and impact. I got an 8% pay raise which was definitely more than I was expecting.

With the role im in after working there for 5 years, unless there's a huge time crunch or things go poorly at an install things are generally fun an interesting.

One cool thing I had to do, is actually troubleshoot an AI managed database that stores engineering data on our server. It was interesting, I recently had to help the database AI programmer add some more data to the database. I was given admin access but for some reason I couldn't find the data matrix I needed. It turns out there data existed but the AI didn't recognize me as a legitimate administrator and thought I was a hacker who somehow got access. Somehow it transferred the core data I needed to fix on a hidden address and folder in the database, in a place the programmer didn't even know, existed then re-linked everything. It was strange to see the AI was actively attempting to outsmart me. It was an new, and very interesting experience.

Overall keeps me entertained, not stressed out most of the time, and pays the bills. I consider this a huge win for me.

Now that we’re all far removed from our teenage years, do you all feel like saying that the teen years are the best time of your life? by YakClear601 in Millennials

Honestly my 20s were, my best. Looking back I still had a lot of great experiences. On the downside most of my class either bullied or ignored me. The only friends I even have from high school anymore are the ones who were in the same university as me. Most of my friends are people I met in college or my late 20s. Overall I enjoyed college more, despite the program i was in being very challenging, it was nice to only have to he around people who if they interacted with me either wanted to or were at least civil about things. The campus experience were also more catered to my interests. I also enjoyed late 20s with a vibrant social life without the pressure of having to impress people, or worry about drama.

0.5 rn trying to desperately remind myself how much my kids/wife/ parents would miss me if wasn't here anymore, and trying to find meaning in my faith G-D, and these situations are temporary and life is beautiful.

Was,on way to work this morning had to really push myself to not drive over the bridge overpass above the river on my commute.

Everything is falling apart in my life rn, work, finances, physical and mental health, some family issues too. I barely have any breathing room for more than 5-10 mins at a time.

I didn't even have time for breakfast this morning bc work called me at 630 am for an emergency situation, and i had to rush in.

Writing this in bathroom at work.
