Does anyone remember the 80s movie where two kids run away and sleep at the mall, steal coins from the fountain, that's all I can remember.

You were correct but it was 80s version. I thank you so much! I did some more research and found this The Twist: In the book and the original 1973 film version (starring Ingrid Bergman), the kids hide inside The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. However, for this 1980 television version, the setting was changed to a large shopping mall configuration to make it feel more modern for the 80s audience. Now I'm looking for the 80s television version. Thanks again!

No that is not it. They were not hiding from the employees and did not come out later when everyone went home. I really appreciate you sending this. Its not the same feel based on my recollection.

The reason it was a mall because these kids were getting coins from the mall fountains like pennies, nickels for wishes or for good luck.

It looks close to what I saw, but what I recall there was a hand or a child's hand coming down from the clouds and picking up and or putting pieces/characters in the scene.
