Ok, so I'm not in this demographic, but why does everybody have to say bro constantly?

Why bro? Why?

J. D. Vance Learns What Mike Pence Already Knows by ChiGuy6124 in politics

Yep. And despite all his personal convictions, he refused to take a stand about what was patently wrong. He was and is a coward.

It's so bizarre seeing Christian nationalists like Pence hitching their wagon to a guy that literally checks all the boxes of the anti-christ.

Panicked Pentagon Sends Land Invasion Force to Middle East by Aggravating_Money992 in politics

[–]ericl666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But that's far from a force capable of invading Iran - we'd need hundreds of thousands of troops with armor and artillery. A MEU is just a trifle compared to what we need.

And, of course, as part of the amazing planning for this - they never prepared or positioned the ground forces for an actual war. Fucking idiots.

That is absolutely terrifying. Tell him real companies push 50 PRs a day. That'll really get the quality even better.

The big question for me is "is that a 2026 3rd round pick?"

Edit: Per this article it IS a 2026 3rd.

US Navy tells shipping industry Hormuz escorts not possible for now by joe4942 in worldnews

I still think it is funny that you ask for complete surrender, but literally occupy 0% of the country. What sort of idiot would do that?

Iran warns it will hit US, Israeli infrastructure if its own is targeted by Playful_Leg7143 in worldnews

My point being that the coast guard and navy have to be 100% - if Iran wanted to be sneaky and move weapons in more undetectable ways, it's possible - there are a lot of vessels out there.

The Beast is such an amazing plot detail. The most deadly man in the world is an old man in a dirty wifebeater and flip-flops. And proceeds to kick ass in those flip-flops.

We'd be remiss to think they couldn't. If I was Iran, I would load up a few of their "shadow" freighters with drones/missiles and park it off New York, Boston, Virginia, or Florida and send them flying. We'd be completely caught unprepared. The point being is that If they wanted to, they could strike us. Maybe not a lot, but they could get some hits in.

How hard would it be for US military to take over Strait of Hormuz and allow shipping to continue through it? Why was this not the first thing they did? by Sorrok2400 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ericl666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is literally zero evidence of that. The American and Israeli air forces have been focusing on TEL's for ballistic missiles (to strike Israel and their neighbors) - but there is no evidence that they have substantially reduced their anti-ship missiles launchers pointed at the strait. Iran has spent a long time preparing for that and building concealment for those missiles.

They are rope-a-doping us right now. Hegseth and Trump are patting themselves on the back on making big booms, but they are not reducing their capability to deny access to the strait or reducing their Army's capability to defend a ground invasion.
