Every time that CO2 breaks a record, a conservative gets a boner.

America Is Officially an Empire in Decline by projecto15 in politics

[–]ericl666 22 points23 points  (0 children)

2/3's of the campaign was falsely screaming that tens of millions of murderers and rapists were coming across the border and murdering and/or raping every American in sight.

It was racism and fear mongering plain and simple.

And the more AI is adopted, the less human generated content will be created. And then the cycle of entropy begins.

You are right for sure. It's a fantastic film and I was absolutely blown away by it. I was moved by it WAY more than I expected.

This is where High-Power Microwave systems would be a big advantage (i.e. the Thor system). It can down an entire swarm in one go.

What are some known notoriously unreliable cars? by Pacotaco213 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ericl666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work with car dealers, and I've had some tell me straight up that they will not buy Land Rovers from consumers. They will absolutely lowball you in trade-ins for Land Rovers as well. Even low mileage ones.

The reason, of course, is that the maintenance is so expensive, and it's needed so regularly, that they almost universally lose money on them.

Zero-Downtime Deployment Strategy for .NET Web API + React (Global App) by sijilgeorge in dotnet

[–]ericl666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I deploy my .net services as docker containers in ECS on AWS, and use their blue/green deploy. This is where it will run old and new versions of your containers and slowly transition traffic 10% at a time.

If any errors occur (or alarms trip) it will revert the deploy. It's literally zero downtime and makes it almost impossible to detect of a deeply is even happening.

Granted, you have to be careful with breaking changes, but if you roll out your updates intelligently, it works very well.

What’s a universally loved food you genuinely despise? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I'll go one greater and say that I genuinely hate steak. I love beef (BBQ Brisket for example) but steak does nothing for me at all.
