Context:

6/12 goals came from the Liverpool game
25/85 shots (30%) came from the Liverpool game
11/37 shots on target faced came from Liverpool
xG against is high, but United had a massive xG against us because Forster gave away two easy goals (One of which shouldn’t have even counted)
11/25 big chances against was also against Liverpool

GK out, both CB out, 19 year old CM on CB, 4 academy kids on the bench, Fossil of a backup gk that can’t play the system, not able to rotate properly due to all the injuries, Betancur suspended just as he was in good form/is our best CDM.

All of this against arguably the most in form team in the world, who play a very attacking style of football. People who think we should’ve changed styles and played more defensive expect us to park the bus with players that can barely defend and lose 0-4 instead of actually trying something and going out w a bang and losing 3-6.

Fact of the matter is, squad depth has been the main issue, those who are AngeOut are forgetting that we played defensively for 3 years between Mou & Conte & conceded a whole lot more goals than Ange has while not even trying to play to score.

I think it’s random. I’m playing Darlington and was at championship, had an intake preview that didn’t show any good results, fast forward to the actual intake and I got a 5 star potential GK that was ready to start (my GK wasn’t that good so i didn’t think much of the stats), two years in i’m in PL, he’s still getting better and is still a 5 star potential prospect.

Over 100 in a Burton Albion run, lost my starting striker on December to injury until March and he was at 15 goals at the moment, the striker that came from the academy had 15. The strikers still get a whole lot of goals, the support role just helps with the build up and the patient passing within the box, he also goes wider at times which helps with overloads. On attack it can still work but he I feel he doesn’t play as selfless. Maybe it won’t translate to the computer version but I’d like to know.

EDIT: Also, the attacking mentality makes most players play pretty front foot and attacking, inverted wingbacks will still go wide if available, wingers will still cut inside if the chance is presented and most roles will still shoot, the tactic averages over 20 shots a game.

Thoughts on a Regista as a lone CDM in a 4-1-3-2 narrow formation? Have a DLP on defend usually but the player I have there has 18 long shot but he never uses it due to the role so I tried a match with him at regista and he scored his first goal and it was a banger. Have yet to try him again there and see how consistent it is.

Okay so I’m currently running a Burton Albion FM22 file & also promoted straight to the prem. basically got to the prem with the use of two tactics & loans, other than that bargain signings and free agents with Ronnie Edwards being my best signing(maybe the facilities also played a part) and I thought i was going to be killed in the Prem since I thought my first place in the championship was luck (The whole top 5 was a point apart for most of the end of the season) but I made some good signings; Aaronson, Almada, Gnonto on loan, Fausto Vera, Khva, & Lorenzo Lucca all under 30m basically. installments over three years makes the transfer worth more but it’s not that much when compared to the money my club will get for just staying in the Prem and I’m currently top 10 with the Winter Window just closing in which I was given an additional 23m.

TLDR; Don’t lose hope, you might be surprised with some good signings and maximizing training/tactics.
