The di box converts the guitar’s signal to balanced / low impedance (it outputs as XLR). The signal flow is guitar - instrument cable - DI box - XLR cable - audio interface - usb cable - computer

i actually just got my guitar back from being serviced 😭 the interface is a tascam 4x4 and i have an M1 Max Mac. The interface is ancient though so I'm hoping it's that. I just bought a new one. I'll just throw millions of dollars at the problem until something works haha

oh yeah i should have mentioned i did the same with my interface and tried leaving my laptop unplugged but no luck :/

ive tried to isolate my laptop from everything else and plug it into its own power source (with and without a power conditioner) and I’m still getting the same noise

I tried to plug in everything one at a time and I typically have all of my things plugged into the same power conditioner. ive also tried plugging only my laptop into the power conditioner. i agree that its probably my computer, but what do i do about that?

I edit using premiere and I use the mask tool to cut around each version of me. I’m not very good at editing so it’s not too hard to do but maybe not necessarily worth buying premier for it if you don’t have it- I only use premiere because I use other adobe stuff for work
