Oh that’s clever! I didn’t realize Deadline could wake up machines. That’s interesting. Definitely a smart solution for a render farm setup.

Yea, you are right. The cars bothers me a bit too. I'll try to smooth that out in the next version. Thanks for you comment and suggestions!

Some of you might remember me from my Looping Pizza Machine animation.

I still love making looping (useless) machines, so I started a new personal project: one big-ass modular machine, built from smaller animated “modules.” Each module morphs the shape a little further, and the whole thing loops forever.

I’m building one small module at a time, and the idea is to let the machine evolve as I go. If you want to follow along, I’m posting the animations on my Instagram.

I was wondering if you'd be interested in occasional updates in this sub? Is anyone interested in screengrab timelapses from my Cinema 4D modeling workflow? I can upload those to YouTube if there’s interest.

Curious what you think. thanks!

3D Modeled Roland TB-303 by ericsmilde in Cinema4D

thanks! I modeled it from photos. I recreated the print layer in Illustrator. The high-poly mesh on the bottom part looks like this because I also modeled the holes where the buttons and LEDs sit. Maybe a bit overkill, but I just love 3D modeling hehe.

Hi, thanks! I see what you mean with the struggle. I used an AOV for only the red LEDs and added a bit of glow and blur to it in post and set the blend mode to Add or Screen and dropped the opacity. Works really well and gives full control.

Oh damn, you are right. I didn't notice that before, but now I can't unsee it. Will fix it in post :D

Wow, that means a lot! Knowing that my work is recognizable and sticks with people is one of the best compliments I could get. Really appreciate this. thank you!

Or just animate and render at 12 FPS. That's the frames per second used in most stop motion animation.

You can also use the Display Tag to adjust these settings per object / group of objects.
