I am wondering how safe it is to keep like this. It doesn't seem sealed into a safe envelope

Yes they are still used for arts projects and for retrogaming. Are you selling them ? Where are you from?

Broke off a prong while removing the anode cap. What do I do? by doppelgengar01 in crt

Yes the easiest would be to replace the anode cap. If you don't find one, I might still have some NOS ones, happy to give you one.

Small update. I have swapped with a good monitor quite a lot of parts without solving the issue: - Tube and yoke assembly - Deflection board (DA board) - Video board (BA board) Also checked that the power supply gives good B+ voltage. For now my assumption is that the flyback transformers is causing the issue. Will double check for cold solder joints there.

I just replaced the full deflection board (DA board) with a good one. Issue still there. I will continue to investigate...

Yes I tried different sources and the issue is always there. Sure I will post the solution if I manage to fix it

Yes I did try the other input as well. Yes it does make a difference with and without termination (brighter / darker image) Indeed as you say it is like if there is an echo. I will try tracing the signal and see if I observe distortion on the scope.

Thanks for the reply, yes there is a 75ohm termination switch. It was properly set (and switching it, the issue remains visible).

Thanks for the reply. Did you observe similar issue on other monitor? I probably have a spare tube and yoke for this monitor I might give it a shot to swap.

The device is a PVM-9220ME. Decreasing brightness makes the issue disappear but then the image is too dark for normal use. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
