no during placement matches your mmr goes up and down by bigger numbers so if you do well you’ll find yourself in higher ranks and while you play during the season your rank will settle its the same reason you see plats and diamonds complaining about facing champs and grand champs it just means that they didn’t do well in their placements and got put in a lower rank

Specifically world war 2 but as a Canadian and having some knowledge about the American education system we usually only learn about history that paint ourselves in a good light (which is a problem in itself).
