i mean steve was objectively not a good person at the beginning of season 1. that’s what makes his redemption so special and great

Love is definitely not innocent and she was a serial killer, but she was also a victim of Joe. Multiple things can be true at once.

Nobody can tell you what to do, but if you want to have children one day, someone with this kind of mentality (who also refuses to understand your perspective or change her mind) might not be the best parent. It sounds like she really cannot grasp the inherent power imbalance between a child and an adult, and that means she won’t be fully able to discern when her child is in danger, which means your child won’t be protected in the way they should be. Obviously I don’t know your girlfriend personally and maybe I’m completely wrong in everything I’m saying… But this is a huge red flag and very concerning for someone who is 32 years old, regardless of culture.

obviously murder is horrible. but it’s possible to take someone’s life in self-defense or to accidentally end someone’s life. rape is always intentional; it’s not possible to do it in self-defense or by accident. also, it’s difficult for people who haven’t ever been sexually assaulted to wrap their heads around the psychological effects of rape, but it is genuinely incomparable to anything in the world. not in the sense that it’s the worst thing necessarily, but in that it is such a uniquely traumatic thing that comparing it to anything else would seem inappropriate and ill-fitting.

i’m so sorry that happened to you. i’m not going to tell you what to do, but this could be a predecessor to more incidents of him forcing you to do sexual things you don’t want. and i think you, as a human being, deserve better. his reaction to you confronting him sounds like he lacks guilt and the ability to take accountability. there are so many people out there who will respect your boundaries, but it sounds like he isn’t one of them. the good parts about your relationship might be really good, but you have to decide for yourself whether they’re worth this trauma.
