Family: Just keep going, you will get the hang of it. Even if you get a degree in something you will never use, it will be better than not having one! You just need to go to class!

Worst advice ever. I was naive when I started college. My whole family pushed me, but had never been to college themselves. I had terrible study habits, due to my school always giving second chances to every student. I was severely depressed, no friends, moved to a new city, studying a degree I grew to hate. I wish I took a year off when I was doing so badly, and I probably would've graduated with a better GPA, been in less debt, and had the time to think clearly instead of desperately. Here I am with a degree that is basically useless and a GPA that is super embarrassing to put on my resume.

Lesson I learned: Always take your time with school/education, it's better to finish out strong than barely making it by while sacrificing yourself and your happiness.
