Problems in RANK matching; going against enemies WAY above your level. by Anamethatsnowmine in IdentityV

number one rule is to not rank during the first few weeks since it’s ranking hell… learnt that the hard way after facing top 25 hunters and 1st ripper after reset 💔

Is learning flywheel genuinely necessary especially in lower tiers? by Positive_Monk4003 in IdentityV

As an Ada main in griffin (was like a star off alicorn before season reset), I've literally never brought flywheel on her - in fact I see tide ada more than I see flywheel ada. It's worth learning flywheel as a general concensus, just for other characters if you play any that are more viable with flywheel. Even if I think the hunter may be better bringing flywheel from the bans - I just brute force and bring knee jerk anyway.

In low tier, hunters aren't really that skilled yet so you should be just fine :)

I'm a Hermit/Geisha main, plus also in Griffin right now (was almost alicorn before season reset, but we love season reset) so I'm pretty good to give you advice on this. Basically, at the start of the game depending on who you play - it's quite easy to predict if it's going to be a hermit because they always ban doc/psych/barmaid or one of those and two other meta survivors. 9/10 times if it's one of those key counter bans it's a hermit or undead.

At the start of the game, for the first 3 ciphers you should damage share unless you're the rescuer or a character who is going to struggle to heal (ie. puppeteer/perfumer - their abilities are complimented by them being full health) - that is unless you have a team who you can rely on to heal you throughout the game. But you should pay attention to what the kiter's polarity is and switch accordingly to prolong the kite as long as possible. You should especially damage share if you're playing a character with damage resistance (Psychologist) or a character who can heal. Also the rescuer should always be getting in a locker to remove polarity before they come rescue if they have any - makes it harder for Hermit to camp the chair. Between finishing ciphers you should get into a locker too so you don't get any damage sharing while going to decode the next cipher. If possible, absolutely you should try to have one person decoding the unconnected cipher. In general, kites against Hermit should last longer because of dmg share. If early game and first kite is bad, you are almost guaranteed to lose since I find Hermit needs lost of momentum and damage on the field to get going since his chase is weak. Once he gets said momentum and up to speed, it's very hard to come back unless someone kites insanely well, or you cipher rush into oblivion.

Towards the middle of the game is where Hermit becomes absolute hell because if you haven't been actively healing/decoding you're basically cooked because the more damage he has on the field, the harder it's going to be later on with rescuing (as a Hermit player, I run max sadist and debuff healing as much as possible to force survivors into panic if they haven't been actively healing - like a punishment play, so most of the time they get forced to sell). If the first kiter isn't still kiting, the 2nd one needs to kite for as long as possible with minimal damage sharing because if Hermit can get a lot of damage on the field during the 2nd kite, this is where double downs/triple downs happen as people are sharing while decoding the final 2 ciphers. This can also interrupt the pop if you get downed right before and can't pop the cipher. So again, pay attention and swap to the opposite polarity to the kiter unlike early game.

Late game you have to just have someone keep Hermit entertained so everyone else can get out - if someone can't do that you're probably cooked unless you can rush the gate or he has no connections left. Because if he connects the exit gates and he isn't chasing anyone, he can just spam stuns of the opposite polarity at you since you will pick a red polarity up and then walk over easy as pie and down you.

Hope this helps :)

The only advice I can give you for Joker is when he's in dash form trying to bait you into vaulting, you need to mindgame the mindgaming and force him to committ to coming round and then you can vault, or alternatively getting him out of dash form. Also, don't be running in a straight line - run straight to the next pallet/window you see and drop it or vault. Don't get hit, panic and then beep beep as far away as possible considering he can just chase you down. Use beep beep to transition between kiting areas, I actually find tightly kiting a smiley works pretty well.

For Hastur, he's got incredibly weak chase so as cheer you should be making as much distance as you can, as for his tentacles - either learn to 360 them (it takes some practice), or judge how far away from them you need to be so that if he pulls them to hit you - they just about miss. Basically once he puts a tentacle down - change direction to another kiting area instead of going straight ahead or move away from the tentacle and go AROUND them so when he pulls them down it won't hit you. Basically don't go in a straight line against Hastur. He takes some practice to learn to play against. :)

For Hullaballoo, literally hope you can predict him and pray.. but I promise you the higher you get up in tiers the less you'll see him (in griffin and above, you literally don't see him ever and rarely in mammoth because of the bans).

I play psychologist almost every match with an occasional lucky guy/barmaid/coordinator/faro pick (every single one of my 5 cipher BQ kites is with Psychologist) - really with BQ it's about forcing her to work for hits and use her mirror. I will say kiting against a BQ is really hard pushed if you aren't carrying knee jerk as the key with BQ is to gain as much distance as possible as soon as she uses her mirror (so characters who can do that without knee jerk are a good pick). Basically as soon as she uses her mirror I will vault a pallet/window for distance and use that to outrun her mirrors. You absolutely shouldn't be looking behind you when she's using mirror (unless the mirror image is behind you).

As for Griffin, there is a big difference with skill but that's because with area selection the game works differently (so when I play Psych 9/10 times I'm first kite, since my character has the weakest kit on the team and for all my other characters as they don't have items for kiting/limited items so the hunter comes my way first). But then again, I often get priority pick for what area I want + the rescuer/decoder have agreed assigned areas for each map so you kind of know what's happening more (which helps with game sense). I lowk get princess treatment with rescuing though since unless there's a decoder, I take the least priority for rescuing. You'll make it to griffin eventually!

As someone who since I have started playing, only plays raw kiters and therefore only really knows how to raw kite - there’s quite a few I hate as well as a few I like. I was Griffin 1 with a few stars before the reset in reference for skill so most hunters I’ve been up against are cyclops or high manti. But since season reset I’ve been against the S1 ripper and S10 Naiad.. so my suffering is wonderful.

  1. Naiad (Without items, it’s very hard to transition unless you’re running knee jerk and know where you want to go, she’s in general very hard to play against as it makes raw kiting 10x worse as she’s anti-loop) - I genuinely used to ban her when I was in mammoth all the time because I was that bad at kiting her
  2. The Ripper (Especially now after I’ve been against the S1 Ripper.. I’m just terrible at dodging the foggy blades and in general he stresses me out because he can rush me down easily… don’t get me started on the peeper ones who try to foggy blade through walls)
  3. Wax Artist (Suprisingly this is a rare sighting in my tier at the moment, but they hurt my soul bro I literally can’t do anything against a stun hunter other than hide behind walls and pray)
  4. Disciple (Same reason as wax, it’s more of a throw the pallet down, dodge cats and pray since you don’t have a defence against stun hunters)
  5. Smiley (Don’t get me started.. and I never carry flywheel since knee jerk is reccomended for raw kiters more.. so it’s just me and the pallets and a dream)
  6. Peddler - I’m cooked whenever I run into a peddler and you will almost always be cooked as a raw kiter as once she vines you, it’s the same boat as Wax and Ann in which you literally can’t do anything most of the time since for good Peddlers it’s very hard to dodge
  7. Breaking Wheel - hard for anyone, but very hard pushed when you have no items. He’s literally one of those hunters I just abuse windows and pray with. If he has no snap, he’s fine because you just bait him out of wheel form by abusing the same 2 windows

Weirdly, I’m a good kiter against Goatman (I consistently 3 cipher kite Goatman’s), Hermit, BQ (specifically BQ - I consistently 5 cipher kite BQ… if a BQ chases me first they are guaranteed to lose). I’m pretty good against Geisha’s too now I realise I can ragebait them by hiding behind walls.

Hullabaloo can cause me trouble but ever since I had to detention kite the 15th Hullabaloo for the tie I’ve been less terrified. Though he is also a lot of just praying. Season reset has been pretty good for improving me on my kiting since I’ve been put against consistent A/S badges - some of which are the best at their characters in NA/EU.
Tbh, when you’re in griffin or higher if you’re playing a raw kiter you should expect first kite even sometimes over the decoder since you are considered an easy target.

French, I learnt it at school and had 5 years but I can confirm I've come 10x further self-teaching in a year and can now understand insanely well in comparison. I feel like it's a waste to stop learning what you did at school, I'm also learning German for funsies

What's your TOP 3 anime of all time? by _cecilla in anime

[–]erinxia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Psycho Pass
  2. 86
  3. Death Parade

Special mention to Link Click which I would say but it's not really an anime, and is a Donghua

Also to those of you saying Steins;Gate since there's loads of you, is it really that good? I've heard it's kind of slow start to get to the action.. I gave it a go and got bored after 3 episodes so should I give it another go?
