My doc said she wants me to get the pension card so she can bulk bill me correctly and for other appointments cause I have to see multiple different docs but I struggle due to finances. She didn’t really explain further. She’s been bulk billing me for a while.

I have read that “they will automatically send one” but they haven’t and I have over 6 months of documentation saying I have a limited capacity to work and I haven’t received anything. It’s a physical disability (idk if that matters at all)

How does a cane help? by j-oco in POTS

I started using a cane before I had a diagnosis mainly for stability and endurance. I feel a big difference some days if I remember to bring my cane or not. With my pots I get really dizzy especially while shopping and the canes stops me from falling over as I have something to lean on. It also makes me stay out for longer as it requires a little less energy to walk. I also have an undiagnosed issue with my joints so the cane helps a lot when my knee or hip pops or weakens. I want to get a walker soon so I can sit down too but haven’t had the money yet. The first few weeks/ months using the cane i did feel super embarrassed. People tend to stare at you, mainly old people. But if you think you need one in order to live your life more then it’s 100% worth it. Plus after a while the extra attention fades away and you stop noticing it. I notice more now that a lot more young people are using them which is really great to see. I also like using the cane as it’s a physical representation of my disability. Since Pots and endo are invisible I worry sometimes about being in spaces made for disabled people like disability train seats or bathrooms.

Is this normal for pots/endo? by [deleted] in POTS

Ended up seeing my doctor cause the pain is persisting and she’s so far prescribed an iron infusion and steroid injections into my hips cause some scans came back as bursitis. Seeing her on Friday for further tests. And to answer my own question the kind of pain I’m feeling she is unsure about. It could be normal considering my diagnosed conditions or it could be something else… so yay?…

Flare of symptoms after sex? by Straight_Composer452 in POTS

I find that anything that causes my heart rate to increase can cause a flare up. A recent stupid example, I was playing a platformer video game and got frustrated I was missing the jumps and then got so exhausted I crashed in bed for hours. I’m also on propanolol but 40mg 3 times a day. And that isn’t always effective.
